[PC] Looks like Left 4 Dead 3 is actually in development

Yes, that's right. Valve may have unintentionally confirmed that Left 4 Dead 3 is on the way.

It was uncovered recently by a group of fans from the Reddit DOTA 2 community who were taken for a tour of the Valve offices recently. During the tour the group were allowed to take photographs, some of which have revealed a few secrets that Valve were probably hoping to hold out on.

First of all, an image mentions the existence of Left 4 Dead 3. This one shouldn't really surprise people considering how successful the previous two Left 4 Dead games were; what was surprising was the fact that it confirms that Valve can count to three. Will fans rise in protest again like they did when Left 4 Dead 2 was announced?

Secondly, the image confirms that Source 2 engine is in the works and will power Left 4 Dead 3. The Source 2 confirmation isn't exactly news, Valve has talked about it in the past, it is interesting to consider what this will mean for Valve's next wave of games.

So, Left 4 Dead 3, huh? What do you think Valve will do with the new installment and when do you think they'll officially unveil it for the eyes of the public? Can you piece together a conspiracy theory confirmed the existence of Half-Life 3 from this story?

Thanks Destructoid.

[PS3, X360] Looks like Snow is set to return in Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII

[PS3, X360] Looks like Snow is set to return in Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII
I didn't enjoy Final Fantasy XIII and although Final Fantasy XIII-2 improved a few notable errors it still left me wanting more. Sadly, Square Enix's announcement that we'd be getting another Final Fantasy XIII game was not in alignment with my desire (I just want Final Fantasy Versus XIII, guys).

Today it's been uncovered by Siliconera (via Ruliweb) that Snow will return in the newest game thanks to a scan from thenext issue of Jump. It probably shouldn't surprise anyone, he was still present in the previous game. The main difference now is his darker outfit, certainly a contrast to his name.

Apparently he still regrets not being able to save Serah as well.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII is expected to release later this year for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

[Multi] It looks like GAME is saved, 333 stores rescued from closure

[Multi] It looks like GAME is saved, 333 stores rescued from closure
[Image: game-news-image-2012-751885b6451a929fdd5...485bc5.jpg]
It's been a rocky few weeks for GAME, we haven't really reported on the happening's over there but everyone knows that the noticeable cracks started to show up when the Mass Effect 3 controversy kicked in. From there Game faced several issues until the inevitable confirmation they were in grave danger of heading into administration. Luckily, it looks like the company may in fact be saved after all with OpCapita planning to throw their money in.

This news comes sadly after confirmation that up to 277 stores had been closed, which had cost them 2,107 jobs when they went into administration. Thankfully with OpCapita's contribution they'll be able to save 333 of the remaining Game stores (and about 3,100 jobs).

A separate report from The Telegraph claims this deal only currently applies to the UK business, with a management team already in place to take control.

Even though Game is currently saved, they'll definitely have to review how they are seen by video game developers and publishers as well as their customers to stay afloat. It'll be interesting to see how things pan out from here on out.

Well, mostly, Metroid, Starfox, Fire Emblem and a few Zelda games I've missed ( I missed out on A LOT of games. )

Well, you're not going to pick up the bulk of that from game - they stopped selling and trading in GameCube games about 4 years ago. (Anyone in the UK that didn't check the preowned old games in 2007-2008 missed a trick, every PS1 game was going for a quid, and you could get some classic GC and original Xbox games for relatively cheap too. I still remember getting metal gear solid special edition for 75p because of my staff discount at the time)

Gamestation has a bit more of a 'retro' collection but not by much. The only high-street store I can think of is CEX if you live in the north. If not then cash converters and places like that occasionally get some good old games traded in.

Better plan - get it off ebay, sure it might work out a little more expensive (especially for well-known 'rare' games like these), but at least you'll find them and won't have to search around a load of shops for the possibility of zero return.

(also lol - the chrome spellcheck wanted to change Gamestation to molestation!)

[Multi] West / Zampella lawsuit looks set to go to trial

[Multi] West / Zampella lawsuit looks set to go to trial
[Image: accusation.jpg]
It has been awhile since we've heard on the matter regarding Activision vs. Infinity Ward's former employees, but the story has surfaced again. It looks like their case may actually go to trial as well based on a ruling from the Los Angeles Superior Court which has deemed that there is sufficient evidence to support claims that Activision defrauded the former co-founders of Infinity Ward.

This news comes months after Activisions claims were also seemingly approved to go to trial as well (which can be read here). Both sides are seeking relatively hefty damages, and it will be interesting to see from here where things go.

West / Zampella's case could find itself in court in late 2011 / early 2012, so be sure to stay tuned for further details.

This is what the Wii U looks like

by on Jun 7th 2011 1:05PM

Here it is, folks -- the Wii's successor, the Wii U. It kinda looks like a Wii and an Xbox 360 had an adorable baby. We'll have better shots of the Wii U as soon as we can, but for now, here you go!

Update: We've got a more official shot (though similarly small, unfortunately) after the break.

Update 2: A more official, significantly larger shot just came into our tips box. The Wii U: Still adorable.

Update 3: We've got a full gallery of official shots now, just below.

[Thanks Evan!]

Game Boy Camcorder mod is a lot of work (and looks totally worth it)

by on May 24th 2011 5:05AM

At first glance, the Game Boy Camcorder mod seen above may seem like too much work for too little payoff -- but, for us, the effort is totally validated. It may not fit in your front pocket, but it's a way more interesting camcorder than your pal's boring old Flip.
