Final Fantasy XIII-2 has been receiving regular DLC, which is a first for the franchise. It has received new fights, costumes and even a new chapter to the story. Well, the newest costume has finally been released and it comes thanks to a collaboration between Square Enix and BioWare. You can check out the announcement trailer below.

You can pick the costumes up right now on both the PSN and through XBL, they'll set you back €1.99 / £1.79 / 240 MSP each (that's right, they come separately). So if the Mass Effect 3 ending didn't frustrate you enough, now you can parade around in Square Enix's questionable sequel in N7 armour. Sounds kind of neat, right? Anyway, here are the images. A couple of weeks back we reported on some new DLC for Final Fantasy XIII-2, well now you jump online and pick it up now!
The pack will set you back $4.99 (€3.59/£2.99) on the PSN and 400 MSP on the XBLA. It allows you take control of Final Fantasy XIII's afro-haired character, Sazh, in a new adventure. It also adds some new mini-games to the casino stage located in the game.

Square Enix were quite vocal about their intentions for keeping Final Fantasy XIII-2 relevant with a stream of downloadable content. We've already received a few outfits and as Lightning DLC battle. Well, next up is Sazh from the original Final Fantasy XIII crew.

So, fans who have been eagerly awaiting any sort of announcement regarding Sazh can finally relax. The DLC, titled Heads or Tails, contains a new side-story that runs parallel to the story of Final Fantasy XIII-2. Upon completion players will then be able to have Sazh in their party throughout the game. It will also add two new mini-games to the casino stage that is available from the second chapter, the new games are called "Chronobind" and "Serendepity Poker".

It will be available on the 28th of February on Xbox Live for 400 MSP and on the 29th of February for PlayStation Network users for $4.99 (€3.59/£2.99).

Before that DLC even releases though, you'll have the option to buy two new outfits, one for Serah ("Beachwear") and one for Noel ("Spacetime Guardian), so if you can't hold onto your money you could probably sink it there in the lead up to Sazh's return. The costumes will set you back 240 MSP / $2.99 (€1.99/£1.59)

Sure, Chrono Trigger had time travel. But it has been just long enough for Square Enix to revisit the mechanic. What better way to do it than with a sequel to Final Fantasy XIII? No doubt you've had a chance to take the game for a test run thanks to Square Enix making the demo available.

Just in case you haven't checked the local digital marketplace on your PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360, here's a reminder that the demo is now available for Square Enix's sequel to 2009's installment in the Final Fantasy franchise.

The demo sees you take control of Serah and Noel (plus a moogle, who is a bow... uh, yeah...) and try to take down a powerful enemy known as Atlas. The demo shows off the combat, some sidequest features, the ability to use monsters, and thankfully a less linear pathway to your objectives. Oh, you can also jump. Yes!

The demo kind of feels like a love letter from that shallow ex-spouse (in this case the spouse was Final Fantasy XIII) who just wants you to give them another chance. Will you?

Final Fantasy XIII-2 is slated to hit PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on the 31st of January in America, 2nd of February in Australia and the 3rd of February in Europe.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 is going to be crazy. Not only is it going to be crazy, it looks like it will totally make up for last years Final Fantasy XIII. So be sure to sample the below trailer for a taste of the intensity that you can expect.
I had the pleasure of playing the game a few weeks back and it certainly felt like it was shaping up well, a few things I would still change but overall it is definitely an improvement over the previous entry.

How far along is Final Fantasy Versus XIII? We don't know, but Final Fantasy XIII-2 is 90% complete!!

That's right, get excited folks. The game's final release date will be announced for Japan at the Tokyo Game Show later this week but is likely to be December for Japan and January for the rest of the world. Word has surfaced that gamers will have the option to raise up to 150 monsters as well as travel through time. The overall length of the game will be shorter than Final Fantasy XIII but it will feature a large number of new features.

A lot of the characters from the original will return in the sequel, and some will be playable at Tokyo Game Show later this week as well.

Are you excited for this sequel? Or would you rather Square Enix continue on elsewhere?

Yeah, that's Hope. Everyone's favourite, annoying character is seemingly making a come back. Now we just need to see Vanille and we'll be set. Oh wait.

Are you still swallowing that bitter news about Final Fantasy Versus XIII's sorry state? Well, here's some news to make that taste even worse. Square Enix will be bringing Final Fantasy XIII-2 (the sequel to 2010's somewhat underwhelming Final Fantasy XIII) so that fans can experience the newest instalment in the long-running franchise.

They also announced that the game will be heading to retailers in North America next January. That's right, while Final Fantasy Versus XIII waits to enter full production, a sequel to an already existing Final Fantasy is taking priority.

Square Enix will also have Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Dead Island, and Wakfu at Comic-Con for fans to sink their teeth into.

[PS3, X360] Square Enix Officially Confirms Final Fantasy XIII-2 After Square Enix registered a domain by the same name, its fate was essentially sealed. But now we have true confirmation and a picture of the logo.
Square Enix were pretty tight-lipped about any real details about Final Fantasy XIII-2, but we can deduce from the logo that Lightning will return and a new character by the looks of things. It is a direct sequel (much like Final Fantasy X-2, remember that game?) and will be directed by Motomu Toriyama (who directed Final Fantasy X-2 and Final Fantasy XIII as well as various roles on other entries).
According to a translation by RPG Site, the game is aiming for a 2011 release for both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 but it is safe to assume that if this happens, it'll be Japan only (and likely in December). Expect more from E3 this year.
