It's been a rocky few weeks for GAME, we haven't really reported on the happening's over there but everyone knows that the noticeable cracks started to show up when the Mass Effect 3 controversy kicked in. From there Game faced several issues until the inevitable confirmation they were in grave danger of heading into administration. Luckily, it looks like the company may in fact be saved after all with OpCapita planning to throw their money in.
This news comes sadly after confirmation that up to 277 stores had been closed, which had cost them 2,107 jobs when they went into administration. Thankfully with OpCapita's contribution they'll be able to save 333 of the remaining Game stores (and about 3,100 jobs).
A separate report from The Telegraph claims this deal only currently applies to the UK business, with a management team already in place to take control.
Even though Game is currently saved, they'll definitely have to review how they are seen by video game developers and publishers as well as their customers to stay afloat. It'll be interesting to see how things pan out from here on out.

Well, mostly, Metroid, Starfox, Fire Emblem and a few Zelda games I've missed ( I missed out on A LOT of games. )
Well, you're not going to pick up the bulk of that from game - they stopped selling and trading in GameCube games about 4 years ago. (Anyone in the UK that didn't check the preowned old games in 2007-2008 missed a trick, every PS1 game was going for a quid, and you could get some classic GC and original Xbox games for relatively cheap too. I still remember getting metal gear solid special edition for 75p because of my staff discount at the time)
Gamestation has a bit more of a 'retro' collection but not by much. The only high-street store I can think of is CEX if you live in the north. If not then cash converters and places like that occasionally get some good old games traded in.
Better plan - get it off ebay, sure it might work out a little more expensive (especially for well-known 'rare' games like these), but at least you'll find them and won't have to search around a load of shops for the possibility of zero return.
(also lol - the chrome spellcheck wanted to change Gamestation to molestation!)
