[PS3, X360] Rumour: Ratings board lists Resident Evil: Revelations for consoles

[PS3, X360] Rumour: Ratings board lists Resident Evil: Revelations for consoles
[Image: game-news-image-2012-f2daaae097660cb17ac...1ac79e.jpg]
Resident Evil 6 is behind us now and Resident Evil 7 is likely years away, so what's the best way for Capcom to keep the franchise going until a new entry is released? It seems as though throwing together a port might be the answer.

VG247 reports that a listing surfaced on the Korean Ratings Board suggesting that Resident Evil: Revelations is making its way to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

This move shouldn't be a surprise to anyone really, Resident Evil: Revelations didn't make nearly as many mistakes as Resident Evil 6 did and was generally well-received. Bringing it to a wider audience makes sense, but time will tell if this actually ends up being true. Would any of you guys be interested in picking this up for console? Personally, I'd like to see Capcom include the Wii U in this as well if they're going to do a console port.

Capcom are staying quiet at the moment, we'll update you as soon as we learn more.

[PC] Rumour: Final Fantasy VII making its way to PC again

[PC] Rumour: Final Fantasy VII making its way to PC again
[Image: game-news-image-2012-1c990b32c341121a608...6c394c.jpg]
A leaked Steam description has hinted at Final Fantasy VII making its way to Valve's digital distribution platform. According to the leak it will include a host a new set of features including Steam achievements (36 in total apparently), cloud saving, and online profiles to compare game progress with friends.

Apparently there will also be a new Character Booster Item that will max your HP, MP and Gil when you "find yourself stuck on a difficult section or lacking the funds to buy that vital Phoenix Down". This should be helpful for those players who find themselves struggling with a few of the more unforgiving battle's you'll face as you progress.

The new information appeared briefly on FinalFantasyVIIPC.com, a domain that was registered by Square Enix on June 15. The domain was spotted by the keen eyes over on the GOG forum.

The price seems to be pegged at around £7.99/€9.99 (or roughly $15) which seems like a fair price for a classic game. We are left wondering if Final Fantasy VIII will get the same treatment.

[PS3, X360] Rumour: Bayonetta 2, did Sega cancel it before it was announced?

[PS3, X360] Rumour: Bayonetta 2, did Sega cancel it before it was announced?
[Image: game-news-image-2012-e3e4a2f48a40a802cc0...f69f55.jpg]
A new and incredibly depressing rumour has surfaced and begun spreading across the world wide web. This rumour suggests that Sega has cancelled Bayonetta 2. Yeah, the game wasn't ever announced but that doesn't mean it didn't exist.

The rumour comes via SPOnG who claim to have a source familiar with the situation. Sega's continued restructuring has been cited as a potential reason for the rumoured cancellation. Whilst it is hard to ascertain if the game was actually being developed or only in pre-production it was planned to include a new character from the US military.

Sega announced its restructuring after a dismal financial result this year, fears that Platinum Games have been cooking under the surface. It also probably doesn't help that Platinum Games are hard at work on Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 as well as Anarchy Reigns.

Naturally this is still only a rumour and we have no way of knowing for sure until Sega makes a statement, considering that Bayonetta 2 has not been formally announced don't expect anything concrete for now though. Considering how busy Platinum Games are it definitely wouldn't be surprising if a supposed sequel to Bayonetta was on the back-burner.

Would this news make you sad? Or were you one of the two people who didn't really dig Bayonetta?

[PC] Rumour: Could Half-Life 3's website be currently getting assembled?

[PC] Rumour: Could Half-Life 3's website be currently getting assembled?
[Image: game-news-image-2012-af5dda31cb7f595560a...74b1f7.jpg]
It assumed that whenever one reads the Half-Life 3 in the headline of any news story that rumour must additionally be attached, this story is no different.

Okay, so with that out of the way we can get into the meat of this story. Inside Gaming Daily has been doing some snooping and came across two tweets that could be related, one is a quote from Half-Life 2 by IGN's Twitter feed and another is from Valve informing fans to be sure to check all of their feeds. Those could be related, they could not be.

[Image: game-news-image-2012-16e711bf739b3b48db6...8524ec.jpg]
Things are about to get somewhat more interesting though. Observe one web domain: http://orange.half-life3.com/apache2-default/ which links to a blank page except for the text "It works!"

Now, this could mean anything really, I mean the url contains the infamous Half-Life 3 tag but that's far from any sort of confirmation. However, when you check the WhoIs on the domain you'll discover that it is in fact owned by the guys at Valve. Those who know a thing or two about domains will also know that '/apache2-default/' is a typical sight for when people have just installed apache, a website engine.

Not to mention this is just a little over a week after we learned about Gabe's cute little trick, using Ricochet 2 as a code word instead of saying Half-Life 3. Here's the story on that in case you missed it.

Obviously, this is not confirmation. It could just be nothing. But Half-Life 2 came with the Orange Box, maybe Valve is planning another Orange Box with a new Half-Life? Weigh in on this topic in the discussion, E3 is just around the corner after all!

[PC, PS3, X360] Rumour: Is this the star of Assassin's Creed 3?

[PC, PS3, X360] Rumour: Is this the star of Assassin's Creed 3?
Salt should be prepared, but Kotaku has claimed to have received an e-mail from a Best Buy employee featuring possible character art from the upcoming Assassin's Creed III. The e-mail also talks about how Ubisoft will be revealing the game on the 5th of March and details that there will be pre-order bonuses. [Image: game-news-image-2012-483cb1d8a91492705af...bb4d1f.jpg]You can click on the image for a larger version.
As you can see from the character art it definitely looks like we're going to be taking a trip to the American Revolution (which had been hinted at awhile ago for the third installment). The new character can be seen wielding a tomahawk (with a blade styled like the Assassin's Creed insignia), wearing an 18th century military jacket, jewellry, etc.

This is all unconfirmed at this point, but expect Ubisoft to move soon. They are already planning a major announcement in a few days, one would assume it will related to Assassin's Creed III.

[PS3] Rumour: Possible God of War 4 trailer leaks out?

[PS3] Rumour: Possible God of War 4 trailer leaks out?
Make of this what you will, but this little snippet of footage has leaked out onto the internet.
God of War 4 has been swirling the internet in several different CVs and causing plenty of rumours to surface but nothing solid has been confirmed yet. This trailer is far from confirmed as being official, but God of War 4 does seem like something that will become a reality. What are your thoughts?

[PC] Rumour: Valve might be putting together its own 'Steam Box' console

[PC] Rumour: Valve might be putting together its own 'Steam Box' console
[Image: game-news-image-2012-1ca14291c9d6cc0dbe9...1efa95.jpg]
Rumblings are growing that Valve, mighty overlords of the PC market, might be looking to invest in releasing a dedicated PC built with parts from several of their partners.

According to sources, it appears that several meetings were held back at CES to demo an early version of the console to selected parties. The basic specs of the box would include an Intel Core i7 CPU, 8GB of RAM, and an Nvidia GPU. These 'Steam Boxes' would be capable of running standard PC games, and even rival digital distribution platforms.

Nothing is official yet, but one of the biggest things that would seperate a Valve labelled device such as this from standard consoles would be the lack of bureaucracy and licensing fees. Other features could include controllers that could be reconfigured for alternative uses, etc. The word currently blowing around the video game news world is that Valve may announce this at GDC. Or at the very least they'll make more information available to potential partners and build up for a full E3 blowout.

Eyes glued to all the GDC news, friends. We'll see what we can find out as the week passes.

[PC, PS3, X360] Rumour: DICE helping Visceral with Dead Space / Frostbite 2?

[PC, PS3, X360] Rumour: DICE helping Visceral with Dead Space / Frostbite 2?
[Image: game-news-image-2012-55d376fd96d30050f40...c51920.jpg]
Frostbite 2 is a pretty nifty engine, Battlefield 3 being the foremost example of how awesome it is. It has proven itself so much that EA is excited to get the engine to work on other franchises. Need for Speed: The Run uses it and the upcoming Medal of Honor: Warfighter will be using it. Now it appears that there is a chance that Dead Space could be using Frostbite 2 as well.

A recent tweet from DICE has alluded to the fact that they are jetting around the world, spreading the Frostbite 2 love. Johan Andersson (DICE rendering architect) tweeted, “Flying off to Canada & the US to visit a whole bunch of Frostbite-powered EA studios before GDC” and then “First stop: Montreal.” Two EA studios are located in Montreal, Visceral Games and BioWare also has a presence there.

We have heard in the past that several Dead Space titles could be in the pipeline, including Dead Space 3. This is by no means confirmation that it is happening, but it is a possibility. The other option might be Dragon Age III due to BioWare's presence and potentially lending some credibility to rumoured multiplayer claims for the third installment for the franchise.

We'll keep our ears to the ground for any more rumblings, would you like to see Frostbite 2 put to the test in Dead Space?

[PC, PS3, X360] Rumour: Potential Aliens: Colonial Marines special edition images

[PC, PS3, X360] Rumour: Potential Aliens: Colonial Marines special edition images
An image has surfaced on Gamekyo that alludes to the contents of a potential Aliens: Colonial Marines special edition. [Image: game-news-image-2012-ba1f2eacd37d3f61cef...0c972a.jpg]
According to the as-of-yet unconfirmed image, the collector's edition will include a load of in-game weapons, a new 'USMC Academy Firing Range' game mode and a USCM Dossier that will offer essential briefing notes on the Xenomorph infestation. Oh, and a bad-ass power loader statue with a Xenomorph attached to its arm.

At this point Sega is not commenting on how official this is, so take the image with caution. But it won't be surprising if it is confirmed any day now.

[PC, PS3, X360] Rumour: More Dead Space 3 plot details sneak out

[PC, PS3, X360] Rumour: More Dead Space 3 plot details sneak out
The mole that shed some potential light on what we can expect from Dead Space 3 is at it again according to a new report from Siliconera. This time the mole delves into some more detail about the mental state of Isaac Clarke, who has had his fair share of psychological trauma throughout both Dead Space 1 and Dead Space 2.

It is worth noting that if these end up being true, then the rest of the text could be considered hypothetical spoilers. So tread lightly.

[Image: game-news-image-2011-c3a70eca4cf5160c7dd...fecccd.png]
It sounds like Isaac's own worst enemy will be himself this time, with the mole alluding to the existence of a 'Shadow Isaac' in Dead Space 3. A split personality who will actively be pointing out flaws in Isaac Clarke as the game progresses as well as taunting him at any given chance. One such example is that later in the game Isaac falls into a tunnel, to which Shadow Isaac calls him an 'idiot'. He'll complain that this rescue mission isn't his mission and Shadow Isaac will remind him he turns his back on all the wrong things. And, by the sounds of it, just being a downright jerk throughout the game.

It'll be interesting to see if this ends up being a part of the game, considering his past hang-ups on Nicole from Dead Space 1 this does kind of seem like the next obvious step. We shall continue to await official word from EA as always. Hopefully we'll hear something sooner rather than later, I'm craving another hit of Dead Space.

[3DS] Rumour - 3DS redesign on the cards

[3DS] Rumour - 3DS redesign on the cards
[Image: game-news-image-2011-8ac192dbe0f1f904961...012182.jpg]
Recently Nintendo slashed the price of the 3DS, some saw that as pretty drastic action really showcasing Nintendo's desperation. However, the improved sales of the hardware are really starting to give Nintendo some positive figures. Having said that, we all know that at some point in the future there will be a redesign on the cards.

Rumours have surfaced that the redesign is in the works that would see an additional circle pad added to the handheld as well as a lessened focus on the 3D gimmick (as well as a new name potentially). For existing 3DS owners, a second circle stick would be available to them via a peripheral that would apparently sell for roughly $10. That all sounds a little wild for my imagination, especially so soon after picking up new 3DS adopters. The report comes from French site 01net who were responsible for reporting on both the technical specs of the PlayStation Vita and fact that the Wii U would have a touch-screen controller and be backwards compatible for Wii games before they were officially revealed.

Do you think Nintendo would do something this drastic? I don't doubt a redesign is on the cards, but adding a second circle pad and lessening the focus on the gimmick doesn't seem like something they'd do so soon. Remember when there were all those rumours that Sony were going to add a second stick to the PSP but never did? Perhaps this will go the same way. Personally, I'd write this off as pure rumour, but it is certain to get people talking.

[CC'11, PS3, X360] Rumour: Resident Evil 6 potentially set for TGS reveal

[CC'11, PS3, X360] Rumour: Resident Evil 6 potentially set for TGS reveal
It was the last day of Comic-Con and according to some rumours that are swirling around, Capcom used this final day to detail Resident Evil 6 to handful of people in a closed-doors presentation. It was a strictly no photo situation, but the rebel of an insider managed to snap a picture of the supposed logo with the date 15/09/2011 (which is the day of the Tokyo Game Show opening). [Image: game-news-image-2011-e8989e6f5b700b25138...ee5bac.jpg]
Nothing else is known about the title at this point, and there is a chance that the image could be an altered or doctored, so as always take this rumours with a side-helping of salt. The interesting thing will be to see if the game will also get the Wii U treatment as well as the other two main platforms depending on the release window.

If this does end up being true, then it will just continue Capcom's bad luck with secret information (like the full cast of Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 being leaked). Stay tuned for more information as it develops.

[PS3, X360, PC] Rumour: Battlefield 3 DLC Info Leaked?

[PS3, X360, PC] Rumour: Battlefield 3 DLC Info Leaked? [Image: game-news-image-2011-1ff9913b2aa9f86e80c...2e4c60.png]
It looks as though the special DLC for Battlefield 3 may have leaked out a bit earlier than EA or DICE would have liked. We are still awaiting final confirmation, but it looks like a poster uncovered by a member on the Battlefield forums may have stolen the thunder.

If said poster is to be believed, then the special DLC that will be coming with the limited edition of Battlefield 3 will be a four-map redo of the "Strike at Karkand" map from Battlefield 2. Those who do not pick up the limited edition will be able to purchase the DLC roughly a month after launch. This particular map was one of the most popular ones from Battlefield 2 and there have been several people asking for it on the official forums.

Whether or not this ends up being true will be a matter of time, EA have been contacted and when an answer is known either way then you'll see it here.

You can check out a close-up of the alleged poster here.

[PS3] Rumour: Metal Gear Solid HD Collection Incoming?

[PS3] Rumour: Metal Gear Solid HD Collection Incoming? Label this one as rumour until we hear more, but according to the UK's Official PlayStation 3 Magazine have heard 'inside whispers' that Kojima's first three Metal Gear Solid titles could be next in line for a HD collection.

The magazine reports that Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater are set to be touched up in high definition for release in a similar fashion to the God of War Collection and Prince of Persia Trilogy. With Metal Gear Solid 4 quickly approaching its third birthday and Metal Gear Solid: Rising not due out until 2012 maybe a HD collection wouldn't be such a bad idea to keep people's minds on the Metal Gear franchise.

When more word emerges one way or another you'll find it in our portal. Would you buy a Metal Gear Solid HD Collection? The reasons for owning a PS2 are beginning to dwindle with every HD collection that gets announced or talked about.

[3DS] Rumour: Metroid Title for 3DS to be Announced on Wednesday [Image: game-news-image-2011-de36f51fd99f466b6e2...5dfa07.jpg]
It looks like we haven't even begun to see Nintendo's full hand for the Nintendo 3DS. Jonathon Ross, who is currently pretty chummy with Nintendo, has been teasing through his Twitter account about what Nintendo will be showing off at their European 3DS event this week.

Nothing said can really be written off as concrete information until the event itself unfolds, but if you need a reason to be excited then here's one: a hopeful fan tweeted Jonathon Ross that even though he didn't expect Ross to spill any information he said he was hopeful that a new Metroid was on its way. In a typical teasing fashion, Jonathon Ross responded saying: "I think you're going to be pleased then...".

If a new Metroid is announced, what would you like to see? A new Metroid Prime? Or maybe a new side-scrolling title like Metroid: Fusion? Perhaps now is the time that Metroid: Dread will become reality? At this point it is still speculation, but Ross' tweet certainly mixes in some interesting potential.

Are you excited for the upcoming 3DS press events for America and Europe? Only a few days to go now.
