As eShop weeks go, this one's a bit spectacular. A new five-star Zelda? Check! A new five-star Mario? Check again! What's more, you'll be able to download them as soon as today becomes tomorrow, midnight sharp.

Wait, you want more? You're genuinely not satisfied with Super Mario 3D World and The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, both games we awarded five stars to? Really?

Not even if we chuck in a week-long sale that lasers 30 percent off Mega Man 1-4 on 3DS and Wii U? Surely you aren't that greedy?

Fine.... fine. Fine. Be like that. Let's go through the whole list already.

Wii Party U – Impressions Part 2

As my time with Wii Party U continues, I had some time to play more of the GamePad-only games. I still have a bit to go before I get a well-rounded view of the entire game. Until then, I will keep posting periodic impressions. This specific update will solely focus on the mini games that play off-TV.

Mii-in-a-Row
This is kind of like Connect 4 mixed with Othello. Your goal is to create Mii characters on a grid, using heads, torsos, and legs. The trick is that you don’t know what piece you will get, and you’re going back and forth with an opponent. Every five rounds, you will compete in a mini game to allow the winner to flip one of their opponent’s pieces to your color. This was challenging and fun, as it created some strategy to the large lineup of other games that were faster, action games. The mini games you play in-between, though, were quick and over in no time. This is definitely a game I will go back to again.

Tabletop Baseball
If you have ever played those old-school baseball games in the arcade that function similar to a pinball machine, you will have an idea of what this is like. One player flings an analog stick to pitch the ball, while the other player flings another one to hit the ball. You do not have to field the balls, as the hits all depends on where the ball goes. Hit it in a pipe, and you are out. Hit one that sits in the field, and you get a single. This was quite fun, and I was surprised at how much I wanted to keep playing this simple game.

Tabletop Gauntlet
The Tabletop Gauntlet is all about mazes. You can compete in one of two modes — the first allows you to move your group of three marbles through each section of the maze in order to score higher points, while the second mode has you controlling one marble all the way through the maze for the fastest time. You will use both the analog stick to manipulate the platforms, and the R button controls plungers and flippers. I found the one I liked the most is the timed runs, as I kept trying to beat my fastest time. This is definitely one that is fun to play by yourself.

The group of games available to play on the GamePad are actually very good, and they take advantage of the screen and buttons well. All the mini games in this collection are really simple, in terms of controls, so it does not surprise me that they all use only one or two buttons. This could make some players very comfortable, but advanced players could get frustrated by the lack of control options. Still, I believe the simple controls allow for more people to play, but there still some challenge there for veterans to improve their scores and times.

Mario Party 9 Party Crashers

Nintendo launches Rhythm Heaven Fever with a party at iam8bit

Los Angeles' iam8bit gallery played host to Nintendo last night, as the two companies launched Rhythm Heaven Fever with a full scale party. There were plenty of demos of the game on display, live painting by artists Yoskay Yamamoto and Mari Inukai, a live DJ spinning tunes, and a few photo booths where players could dress up and pose, or even dance for a video running on Nintendo's own site.
The event was a lot of fun, and you can pretend you were able to be there by browsing through the gallery below. iam8bit always does a great job with these events, and co-founder Jon Gibson promised us there's lots more on the way: He's currently working hard on the leetUP event that iam8bit is co-hosting at the beginning of next month, and says VIP tickets for that one have sold out already. We'll be in attendance, so stay tuned for more.

A few weeks ago, details emerged regarding what games would be joining the House Party this year on XBLA. Now more information has surfaced, including release dates and pricing.

The party starts with Warp on the 15th of February for $10 USD, next up is Alan Wake's American Nightmare on the 22nd of February for $15 USD, Nexuiz on the 29th of February for $10 USD and concluding with I Am Alive on the 7th of March for $15 USD. As an added bonus you'll get an extra $10 USD in Microsoft Points if you buy them all.

Nintendo Unveils Deep and Diverse Software Lineup for Early 2012

New Kid Icarus, Pokémon, Rhythm Heaven and Mario Party Games Are on the Way

REDMOND, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--As some people hunker down for a long winter's nap, Nintendo is getting things fired up. The first quarter of 2012 offers great new installments in popular franchises for both the Nintendo 3DS™ system and the Wii™ console. Nintendo has something for everyone, from family fun to three-dimensional adventure.

On the Nintendo 3DS system, Capcom's Resident Evil® Revelations launches on Feb. 7. In a new chapter of the hit survival-horror franchise, players fight a new enemy and virus in 3D without the need for special glasses. METAL GEAR SOLID® 3D Snake Eater from Konami arrives in the first quarter of 2012. The game is a re-interpretation of METAL GEAR SOLID 3: Snake Eater, and offers a rich jungle world with customizable stealth and camouflage options. On March 23, the epic odyssey Kid Icarus™: Uprising soars into stores and lets players help the winged warrior Pit fight Medusa and her Underworld Army.

The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS will also be busy with a variety of downloadable offerings. Dillon's Rolling Western™ brings tower-defense strategy and touch-screen driven action to the Old West. Armadillo ranger Dillon defends pioneer villages against waves of attacking rock monsters using gun towers, defensive structures and his own exciting attack abilities. In Sakura Samurai: Art of the Sword™, players travel to ancient Japan and guide a young warrior as he battles waves of enemy soldiers. Players must identify the enemy's attack, dodge and counter-attack with the mystical Sakura Sword to win the battle. The critically acclaimed VVVVVV and NightSky from Nicalis, mind-bending action of Mighty Switch Force from WayForward and immersive 3D visuals of Mutant Mudds™ from Renegade Kid™ round out a diverse selection of downloadable games.

Nintendo is also introducing an optional accessory that gives Nintendo 3DS owners a second analog stick to control compatible games. The Circle Pad Pro will launch in the United States on Feb. 7. It will be sold through GameStop stores and online at http://www.gamestop.com at a suggested retail price of $19.99. The Circle Pad Pro is a comfortable cradle that holds the Nintendo 3DS system while adding an analog Circle Pad on the system's right side. The attachment also adds additional shoulder buttons to give it a feel more akin to traditional console controllers. It is designed as an optional accessory and is compatible with Resident Evil Revelations and METAL GEAR SOLID 3D Snake Eater.

On the Wii console, Rhythm Heaven™ Fever arrives on Feb. 13 at a suggested retail price of $29.99 in the United States. The game asks players to test their rhythm in more than 50 easy-to-learn, tough-to-master minigames to prove they've got the groove. Two weeks later on Feb. 27, PokéPark™ 2: Wonders Beyond lets players take on the role of Pikachu™ and his Pals - Oshawott™, Snivy™ and Tepig™ - as they try to make it through PokéPark and discover the secrets of a mysterious new world. Just Dance 2 throwing a Summer Party on July 21

UBISOFT® ANNOUNCES JUST DANCE® 2 – SUMMER PARTY

Montreal, Canada – June 23rd , 2011 – Today Ubisoft® announced it will launch Just Dance® 2 – Summer Party exclusively for the Wii™ on July 21, 2011. After the worldwide success of Just Dance, which has sold more than 14 million units worldwide , Just Dance is back to get you up on the dance floor! This new game will feature 21 tracks previously only available via download, plus two new exclusive tracks.

Just Dance fans will rediscover everything they loved about their favorite dancing game, with hits such as Rihanna's Pon De Replay, Blur's Songs 2, and Firework by Katy Perry; but also You Can't Hurry Love by the Supremes or Panic at the Disco's Nine in the afternoon. Nintendo teases new Rhythm Heaven, Mario Party 9, Kirby titles

Though Nintendo didn't do its traditional "Here are a bunch of logos of games we're making," it couldn't resist a little info dump at the end of the company's press conference. Shown on a screen as attendees exited were logos for [deep breath] The Rolling Western, Paper Mario, Super Fossil Fighters, Rhythm Heaven, Fortune Street, Kirby Mash Attack, Kirby Wii and Mario Party 9.

What systems are these games for? Who's making them? We have no idea. Have a nice day!

Seen@E3: Nyko's last Wii Party Station

Nyko has "the last Wii Party Station on Earth" working its booth at E3. Like that band with a few minor hits that you see years later at Six Flags, the party station is a shell of its former glory.

When we first saw the device in 2007, it was gloriously lit in blue, holding sodas and providing chips. Now, after missing its big break, the device is dark, lonely and generally ignored. It's still working, though, holding a couple bottles of water, a few Nyko Wiimotes and two pieces of candy when we saw it. Even the Nyko rep said with some sadness, "It should be glowing and providing us a bounty of chips."

As for what Nyko is actually showing this year, check out the 2011 lineup.

Rumor: Smurfs Dance Party pics leak

We aren't exactly sure how Metromix got screens of what appears to be the recently outed Smurfs Dance Party game, but here it is (above and after the break). Contacted for comment, a Ubisoft rep told us the Smurf product announcement will come mid-May. The company isn't currently releasing assets for whatever its Smurf game(s) will be.

Metromix's product description notes the title is being developed by Land Ho! (We Cheer) and will have players following "Smurf'testants" as they (sigh) "shake their powder blue rumps to songs by the Jackson 5, Selena Gomez and Katy Perry."

The site lists a July 26 release date (same as GameFly). And yes, if the screens are accurate, it's definitely another spin-off of Ubisoft's super successful Just Dance franchise.
