[PS3, X360] Updated Persona 4 Arena revealed; includes two more Persona 3 characters

I have only just picked up my PlayStation Vita lately so I've been on a serious Persona binge, so I was a more than a little excited when I saw news that a sequel to Persona 4 Arena was in development. However, that excitement has cooled off somewhat now that I've discovered that we're still not sure if it is a full sequel or if it'll be an update, which we know that Arc are infatuated with.

Reports seem divided currently; VG247 note that both Gematsu and Shoryuken labelled the game as a sequel when translating the Famitsu report, but Siliconera is much more vague concerning whether this will be a sequel or just an update.

What we do know is that the update will include two characters from Persona 3, who'll also be sporting updated designs to coincide with the time lapse between events. Both Yukari and Junpei will be joining the playable cast of characters and they'll both be bringing very different attributes to the fray.

Arc System Works will be testing the updated fighter at Hey Arcade in Akihabara and Taito Station Nihombashi. Hopefully we'll find out what form this update will take soon enough, I will not be optimistic considering how Arc System Works has handled the BlazBlue franchise so far. You can check out some off-screen photos over at Famitsu.

Now I'll continue waiting for Persona 5.

by Richard Mitchell Writer RSS on Dec 24th 2012 5:00PM

With the holiday shopping frenzy drawing to a close, GameFly is now running a sale on all of its used game stock. Games get as cheap as $4.99, though, as you might imagine, the better ones will set you back a bit more. Some of the highlights include Ghost Recon: Future Soldier for $10, Persona 4 Arena for $18, Kirby's Dream Collection for $25 and plenty more across Xbox 360, PS3, DS, 3DS and Wii.

You can browse available games right here. Just remember, it's probably too late to get any of these under the tree.

[PS3, X360] Persona 4 fighting game heading stateside this Summer
Arc System Works put together a fighting game based around the popular PlayStation 2 classic, Persona 4, which released in Japan under the name Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena. Atlus has now announced that they will localise it for release in the States this Summer under the title Persona 4 Arena.

The game features characters from Persona 3 and Persona 4 and will be releasing on both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. So, will you be looking into it? Here's some gameplay if you are curious (though, you should know what to expect from an Arc fighting game).

[PSP] Persona 3 Portable Finally Receives a European Publisher

[PSP] Persona 3 Portable Finally Receives a European Publisher American and Japanese Persona fans have been plugging away at the PSP version of Persona 3 since last year whilst European fans were left waiting anxiously. Thankfully some relief has come and a publisher has been confirmed for Persona 3 Portable.

The port will be published by Ghostlight, who also worked alongside Atlus to publish Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne. No official date or pricing details have been locked in yet, but Ghostlight have announced that there will be a special collector's edition when the game does go on sale.

Persona 3 Portable features tweaks upon the original PlayStation 2 outing including a tweaked story, new social links and a battle system that has been revised and based around the one featured in Persona 4. We'll drop word here when the release date is announced.
