Saints Row IV is getting closer and closer with every day; continuing with promotion the Saints Row YouTube channel has uploaded their second developer diary.

This new video talks about the game world and the possibilities that the development team is tapping into with the game's setting. It also features a brief snippet of the infamous anal probe weapon as well, if you are interested in seeing that again.

You can also check out the first developer diary right here.

[PC, PS3, X360] Saints Row IV developer diary describes new game as a 'love song'

Saints Row IV has straddled the headlines over the last few weeks, mostly for controversial reasons. A new developer diary has been released describing the new game as a "love song" to the fans of the franchise.

Volition is clearly very appreciative that their fans have supported them this long, and I'm sure they are happy that they survived the collapse of THQ. Check out the video below, courtesy of GameNewsOfficial on YouTube.

Saints Row IV releases this month for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.

[PC, PS3, Wii U, X360] Resident Evil: Revelations dev diary covers franchise heritage

[PC, PS3, Wii U, X360] Resident Evil: Revelations dev diary covers franchise heritage
[Image: game-news-image-2013-ffac0f03189a0ff0bf5...986b32.jpg]
Resident Evil was previously one of my favourite survival-horror franchises, however it recently became impossible to consider it a 'survival-horror' game anymore. This left it to compete with much better third-person action games, leaving my opinion on the franchise face down in the mud.

However, Capcom have wisely decided to bring the best Resident Evil game in recent years, Revelations, to a wider audience with a HD release on PC, PlayStation 3, Wii U and Xbox 360 this May. To celebrate they have also released a new developer diary that looks back on the franchise's heritage.

Resident Evil 2 is still one of my favourite survival horror games, so there is still a small part of me that hopes the franchise can find its feet again. Revelations was definitely a positive step, it is simply a shame that Resident Evil 6 undid so much of its hard work.

Anyway, I could go on for hours, so keep an eye out for a Resident Evil: Revelations demo on PC, PlayStation 3, Wii U and Xbox 360 sometime before its late May release.

by on Jun 29th 2011 12:00AM

The latest developer diary for Driver: San Francisco discusses the role of protagonist John Tanner, absent from the series since Driver 3. In the video, he's described as an "historic, iconic" character. That may well be, but he's got nothing on the real San Francisco Tanners.

[DSiWare] Spirit Hunters – Developer Diary

YouTube Preview Image

Spirit Hunters Inc is a social role playing game in which the player hunts, battles and captures spirits which inhabit our world. The game uses the front facing camera of the Nintendo DSi™ to create an augmented reality, merging computer generated spirits with the player’s real environment where the battles take place.

“The development of the game is really taking shape and we are delighted to be able to show the battle mode which will represent a large part of the player’s in-game experience”, said Nic Watt, Creative Director at Nnooo. “Now that we have some of the sound effects and player abilities in place, we are able to give a much better feel for what it’s like battling against the spirits.”

The player is part of an international task-force called Spirit Hunters Inc which is charged with capturing mischievous spirits and sending them back to the spirit world. Players will have to hunt down these spirits and coax them out of their hiding places before doing battle with them through their Nintendo DSi. On capturing spirits, players will be rewarded with experience points and in-game currency with which they will be able to level up, replenish health, buy useful spirit hunting items and traps and learn new battling abilities.

“We are very excited about how the game is developing”, said Watt. “Augmented Reality is a really exciting new area for games and we think that Spirit Hunters Inc is really making use of all of the Nintendo DSi’s features. We are also planning a version for the Nintendo 3DS™. More details about this will be revealed in the future.”

Spirit Hunters Inc is scheduled for release on Nintendo DSiWare later this year.
