As the title suggests, this may be a rumor or this may be a reveal of some kind. Last night Hideki Kamiya the producer of the epic Wonderful 101 and also producer of Bayonetta 2 revealed that the release “date” would be announced next week, in game magazines. Even though this is from the man himself, it should still be taken with a grain of salt since he could be “trolling” us followers. What do you think, is there anything legitimate in this post? Let us in know the comments and in the forums.

[PS3, X360] Updated Persona 4 Arena revealed; includes two more Persona 3 characters
![[Image: game-news-image-2013-ccd78453942b4f26fd2...34b774.jpg]](/game-news-image-2013-ccd78453942b4f26fd20a7e82634b774.jpg)
I have only just picked up my PlayStation Vita lately so I've been on a serious Persona binge, so I was a more than a little excited when I saw news that a sequel to Persona 4 Arena was in development. However, that excitement has cooled off somewhat now that I've discovered that we're still not sure if it is a full sequel or if it'll be an update, which we know that Arc are infatuated with.
Reports seem divided currently; VG247 note that both Gematsu and Shoryuken labelled the game as a sequel when translating the Famitsu report, but Siliconera is much more vague concerning whether this will be a sequel or just an update.
What we do know is that the update will include two characters from Persona 3, who'll also be sporting updated designs to coincide with the time lapse between events. Both Yukari and Junpei will be joining the playable cast of characters and they'll both be bringing very different attributes to the fray.
Arc System Works will be testing the updated fighter at Hey Arcade in Akihabara and Taito Station Nihombashi. Hopefully we'll find out what form this update will take soon enough, I will not be optimistic considering how Arc System Works has handled the BlazBlue franchise so far. You can check out some off-screen photos over at Famitsu.
Now I'll continue waiting for Persona 5.

[Wii U] Pikmin 3 is arriving on the Wii U this August, new Pikmin revealed
![[Image: game-news-image-2013-15f83929e4eb0b80589...7ead2a.png]](/game-news-image-2013-15f83929e4eb0b80589c941b777ead2a.png)
Pikmin 3 is the game that was meant to be available months ago; it was originally supposed to be available during the launch window. However, Nintendo's determination to spit-shine the game to near-perfection saw it slip out of the original window (although, I wondered if it was ever actually going to make it in the first place).
However, during today's stream they showed off some new footage for the newest installment in the Pikmin franchise. In the footage they revealed the new Winged Pikmin that will follow the player and carry items in the air. These new Pikmin join the Rock Pikmin as newcomers to the Pikmin series.
Nintendo later dated Pikmin 3 for release in the US and confirmed that it will be available on the 4th of August. Nintendo of Europe has not dated the game yet, but claim that it will be available in a few months.

[3DS] Mysterious Mewtwo-like Pokémon revealed to be exactly what we thought it was
![[Image: game-news-image-2013-3b6b78ffde64ca2c56b...d69321.jpg]](/game-news-image-2013-3b6b78ffde64ca2c56b7131672d69321.jpg)
A few weeks ago a new Pokémon was seemingly uncovered, the Pokémon in question shared a number of similarities with Mewtwo. Nintendo were coy when it came to talking about it though, and have only just now confirmed a connection between the two.
According to a report published by Gematsu Nintendo confirmed the connection and even offered a short video showcasing Mewtwo's transformation into his new form. Hit play to check it out.
You can catch the trailer that showed the new creature in action here.
Pokémon X & Y are slated to hit the 3DS this October.

[PC] Crysis 3 system requirements revealed
![[Image: game-news-image-2012-79cc390805b58fd3b5a...c12f4d.jpg]](/game-news-image-2012-79cc390805b58fd3b5a7ce0078c12f4d.jpg)
As you no doubt would have already guessed, if you want to play Crysis 3 on your PC, you're going to need a pretty capable system. If you want to unlock the full visual splendor that CryEngine 3 has to offer in Crytek's latest (who wants to play on minimum settings anyway?), you're pretty much going to need a beast of a computer. Electronic Arts has just published the minimum, recommended, and hi-performance requirements for the upcoming graphics-intensive shooter, which are predictably quite demanding:
MINIMUM SYSTEM OPERATING REQUIREMENTS FOR PC:
• Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8
• DirectX 11 graphics card with 1Gb Video RAM
• Dual core CPU
• 2GB Memory (3GB on Vista)
• Example 1 (Nvidia/Intel): Nvidia GTS 450, Intel Core2 Duo 2.4 Ghz (E6600)
• Example 2 (AMD): AMD Radeon HD5770, AMD Athlon64 X2 2.7 Ghz (5200+)
RECOMMENDED SYSTEM OPERATING REQUIREMENTS FOR PC:
• Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8
• DirectX 11 graphics card with 1GB Video RAM
• Quad core GPU
• 4GB Memory
• Example 1 (Nvidia/Intel): Nvidia GTX 560, Intel Core i5-750
• Example 2 (AMD): AMD Radeon HD5870, AMD Phenom II X4 805
HI-PERFORMANCE PC SPECIFICATIONS:
• Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8
• Latest DirectX 11 graphics card
• Latest quad core CPU
• SLI / Crossfire configurations will run even better
• 8GB Memory
• Example 1 (Nvidia/Intel): NVidia GTX 680, Intel Core i7-2600k
• Example 2 (AMD): AMD Radeon HD7970, AMD Bulldozer FX4150
If you can't meet these requirements, you can, of course, still pick up the somewhat toned-down console version of the game. Crysis 3 is scheduled for a February 2013 release.

Club Nintendo Elite prizes briefly revealed

The Platinum-exclusive prizes include a fancy Mario playing card set or a collection of three posters. Both Gold and Platinum have the option of the usual desk calendar, or – a first for the Elite prizes – a Virtual Console game (Super Mario Kart, Metroid 2, Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again, or The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask).
All of these games are available on the normal Wii (or 3DS) shop, so we only recommend opting for one of those if you really, really don't like any of the exclusive prizes.

Wii U Console Details Revealed in Nintendo Direct Video
Wii U Console Details Revealed in Nintendo Direct Video
REDMOND, Wash.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Nintendo released a global Nintendo Direct video revealing new information about the upcoming Wii U game console, including details about the system’s touch-screen controller, the Wii U GamePad. In the video, which can be viewed online at http://www.youtube.com/nintendo, Nintendo Global President Satoru Iwata illustrates how Wii U will revolutionize how people connect with games, each other and entertainment through the system’s unique and integrated second-screen controller. The Nintendo Direct video included information about:
New ways to play: With the television and the Wii U GamePad working as two integrated screens, Wii U creates unique possibilities for gaming, allowing “asymmetric” game play where each player can have different goals, challenges and views within the same shared gaming experience.
Miiverse: Miiverse is a brand-new network communication system that lets gamers from around the world share experiences, discuss games and discover new content. Using their personalized Mii character, players enter Miiverse and see games, applications or entertainment content that either they have interacted with recently, expressed interest in learning more about or that their friends are using or discussing. From here they can challenge their friends to play together, ask a question about a difficult level or discover new elements of their favorite games they never knew existed. After a notable achievement or other share-worthy moment, players can pause their game or application and seamlessly post messages to the Miiverse community.
Wii U GamePad controls: In addition to the previously announced touch-screen and motion controls, the Wii U GamePad was redesigned and improved from its reveal in 2011. The new form factor offers players dual analog stick controls and can be used as a remote control for users’ TVs, even while the Wii U console is turned off. Nintendo also announced availability of the Wii U Pro Controller as a separate peripheral.
Wii compatibility: All game discs for the Wii system are compatible with Wii U, and the system will support controllers for the Wii system.
Additional information about Wii U will be revealed at the Nintendo All-Access Presentation @ E3 2012, beginning at 9 a.m. Pacific time on Tuesday, June 5. To follow all of Nintendo’s news and announcements from the E3 Expo, visit http://e3.nintendo.com, and watch for updates on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

[Multi] New weapon revealed from a future Call of Duty title
We know that the new Call of Duty will be revealed on May 1st. What we don't know for certain is whether it'll be Black Ops 2 or a new title by the underdogs at Treyarch. However, a video posted on YouTube by user FPSRussia may have revealed a new weapon.
It appears to be 'Prototype Quadrotor' with a machine gun attached, check out the video to see it in action.
"Looks like the future is going to be fun," FPS Russian says. "But if you can't wait another 15 years, my friends tell me that this baby might just be in the next Call of Duty game which would be the sh*t. As always, have nice day."
The video was embedded on the official Call of Duty website, so it is likely that it is a viral video pointing to something.

[Multi] Assassin's Creed III Special Editions Revealed
As Ubisoft continues to build up the massive hype train following Assassin's Creed III, the publisher unveiled three different special editions for the game today.
The first and most comprehensive of the bunch, called "The Freedom Edition" includes a figurine of protagonist Connor, steel case, George Washington's notebook containing secrets about the Assassins and Templars, an exclusive lithograph, two additional single player missions("Lost Mayan Ruins" and "Ghost of War"), a "Sharpshooter" multiplayer package, and a collector box.
![[Image: game-news-image-2012-e9884747cfc958ff93c...928de6.jpg]](/game-news-image-2012-e9884747cfc958ff93c950f790928de6.jpg)
The next edition, called "The Join or Die Edition", comes with a different collector box, an Assassin medallion, George Washington's notebook, one additional single-player mission ("Ghost of War"), and the multiplayer package.
![[Image: game-news-image-2012-d51f818402e2cf1220f...9afaef.jpg]](/game-news-image-2012-d51f818402e2cf1220f44fd3919afaef.jpg)
Last and least, the "Special Edition" comes with its own unique packaging and an exclusive single-player mission called "A Dangerous Secret".
So far these special editions have only been announced for Australia, Europe, and Asia and will cost A$130, A$110, and A$90 for each respective edition, though we expect a similar announcement is imminent for North American gamers. These deals are also currently only available for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game, however we would be surprised if the same or similar editions aren't made available for PC and Wii U versions of the game as well. Assassin's Creed III becomes available on October 30.

[PC, PS3, X360] Sega and Arkedo's new game 'Hell Yeah' revealed, dead bunnies for all
Back in October, concept art surfaced for a project being called "Project Hell Yeah" that was being pieced together by Sega and Arkedo. Well, today that project has been officially revealed by IGN as Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit. The game will be a platformer and will be available on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 this year.
The game sees players take control of the rabbit prince of Hell, who sets out on a bloody mission of vengeance when some embarrassing photos are posted online. Yeah, uh, you can make sense of that. Either way, here's the trailer from IGN's reveal.

[X360] Fable Heroes Revealed for XBLA

For better or worse, the Fable franchise continues to extend its reach into unexpected territories. While Lionhead Studios continues its work on Kinect-based title Fable: The Journey for a release later this year and rumors persist that another Fable game is in the works for Microsoft's next-gen Xbox console, the Xbox Live Marketplace outed yet another title coming to XBLA called Fable Heroes. There aren't too many details available yet, but it appears that Fable Heroes may be a type of party game judging from the handful of colorful screenshots and the following brief description:
"Fable Heroes is a fresh spin on the beloved Fable franchise in which up to 4 players play both cooperatively and competitively in this hack-and-slash adventure. Work together as heroes of Albion to defeat familiar foes and new enemies while collecting as many gold coins as possible to unlock upgrades, characters, and items in both this game and Fable: The Journey for Kinect for Xbox 360."

Multiplayer Modes Revealed for Kid Icarus: Uprising
MULTIPLE MULTIPLAYER MODES REVEALED IN KID ICARUS: UPRISING FOR NINTENDO 3DS
Feb. 22, 2012
Nintendo has revealed new details on the different multiplayer modes in Kid Icarus: Uprising, which will launch exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS system on March 23. More than 25 years after the launch of the original Kid Icarus game for NES, Kid Icarus: Uprising brings the action and adventure of this beloved series to new heights. Modes and features in the new game include:
Light vs. Dark: Team up with other players in Light vs. Dark multiplayer mode, in which two teams of three are pitted against one another. The ultimate goal is to empty the opposing team’s health meter, which transforms the last defeated team member into an angel. The team who defeats the opposing team’s angel wins. This unique multiplayer mode tests players’ ability to work as a team while keeping the match exciting as the focus constantly shifts from dealing out damage to protecting the team angel.Free-for-All: In this mode, up to six players (including CPU players) combat each other in a winner-takes-all match. Winners are determined by high score, heavily influenced by both the number of kills and the number of deaths.Match Set-up: Both Light vs. Dark and Free-for-All multiplayer modes are playable through local wireless play or online for players with broadband Internet access. CPU players will fill out the roster if there are fewer than six players in a match. Duration of the match, CPU difficulty, weapons and team handicaps are all customizable prior to beginning a multiplayer battle.Weapons and Weapon Fusion: The wide variety of weapons a player has collected in single-player mode can be used during multiplayer matches. Players can also earn additional weapons as rewards in multiplayer play. Players can choose set combinations of weapons and powers before entering into a match. This provides further incentive for players to continue collecting different and more powerful weapons as they play through the single-player campaign. Players can also fuse weapons together at the Arms Altar. Fusing two weapons will result in a single, more powerful weapon that retains some of the key benefits of each, giving players the ability to customize weapons to match their play style. Fused weapons can also be used in multiplayer matches.StreetPass: Through the StreetPass functionality of the Nintendo 3DS hardware, players have the ability to share one of their weapons with other Kid Icarus: Uprising owners. The selected weapon is turned into a Weapon Gem. Shared Weapon Gems can be converted into real weapons by paying Hearts. Players can also fuse Weapon Gems together by paying Hearts to create a more powerful Weapon.Consumers who pre-order Kid Icarus: Uprising via GameStop, Best Buy and Amazon.com will receive a bonus download code for the 3D Classics: Kid Icarus game, a re-mastered 3D version of the NES original. The download code will be given to customers who pre-ordered Kid Icarus: Uprising at the time of the actual game purchase. Retailers may require a deposit for pre-orders. Kid Icarus: Uprising will carry a suggested retail price of $39.99 in the United States.
Kid Icarus: Uprising launches across North America on March 23. For more information, please visit http://kidicarusuprising.nintendo.com.

[XBOX] Report: Xbox Next Launch Window and Graphics Specs Revealed
![[Image: game-news-image-2012-ca57965f95dc2ea265a...18fd9f.jpg]](/game-news-image-2012-ca57965f95dc2ea265a5162ced18fd9f.jpg)
Rumours regarding next-generation consoles are about a dime-a-dozen these days, but IGN usually seems to have their hand on the pulse of the industry perhaps better than anyone else, and they have some pretty juicy info regarding Microsoft's next home console.
According to IGN's "sources close to the project", the next-gen Xbox console is slated to launch in late October or early November of 2013, and will feature a graphics card derived from AMD's 6000 series of GPUs, more specifically the Radeon HD 6670. While that might not seem particularly impressive given that the average gaming PC already features significantly more potent cards and AMD's 7000 series of cards will be hitting the market in the next year or so, it is a huge leap for dedicated gaming consoles. In fact, it is said to have six times the graphics processing power of the Xbox 360, and 20% greater performance than Nintendo's forthcoming Wii U. Not surprisingly, the card will also support DirectX11 along with 3D and 1080p HD output.
Developers will allegedly be receiving development kits based on the console's final specs this summer, and mass production of the GPU will begin by the end of this year. We're unlikely to receive confirmation from Microsoft until E3 at the earliest, so until then feel free to take this information with a grain of salt, though it seems to be fairly grounded.

RE: [XBOX] Report: Xbox Next Launch Window and Graphics Specs RevealedWhy, for their 'next generation' console, do they choose to use a part that was mid-range over 2 years ago?
Sure, it'll be a bump up from the ancient hardware in the 360, but why not at least use current technology in a console that won't be out for at least a year...
I guess it's up to Sony to fix things. But since they're the ones that took the risks last time (and nearly ended up losing out) I don't know if they'll go for their standard high ticket launch.
If they don't put current hardware in at the start then (even from a _marketing_ perspective!) they're shooting themselves in the foot. The current GPUs are way more than just for graphics now. They allow much more advanced AI, hardware accelerated physics as well as all the cool visual stuff.
Perspective. The current Xbox hardware can't handle running any visually complex game at native 1080p (Hell, it fails to do it at 720p on some games) This 'new' GPU is approximately 6x as powerful. Without taking into account optimisations and improvements and just running on their '6x' number (of which there have admittedly been quite a few between the two) Running a current generation game at a proper 1080p60 resolution would only leave a limited amount of room for improvement.
Sure, full resolution will be nice, but it might almost be too subtle for Average Joe CoD player to notice. Skimping on the graphics hardware not only limits the initial impressiveness, but also the increase in visuals people have come to expect over the life of a console.
tl;dr - they're cheaping out and it might backfire
![[Image: 1302646077353s.gif]](/1302646077353s.gif)
It does seem a bit underpowered for a console that should probably last until 2018 or so. I am no expert on the subject but doesn't a dedicated games console make far better use of the GPU than a PC though? I mean the Xbox 360 chip is incredibly outdated in PC terms but it still delivers some very impressive looking games. Plus a high-end card goes for what, $500+? Not very cost effective for a console.
I dunno "6x" doesn't really mean much to me until I can see what it looks like.

^I give a toss about power.
Also sounds pretty interesting that would only be 20% more powerful than the Wii U. Sounds like an Xbox vs. PS2 comparison, I think most people would have thought the Xbox 720 or whatever it will be called would be quite a leap technologically over the Wii U but it sounds like they could be comparable.

If the no used games thing is true I can see a few places not wanting to stock it (think back with the PSP go, some places didnt want it)
Used games is where stores make there money
Few people I know buy games on release day any more as main console Mario/Zelda games aside almost all of them see a price decrease a few weeks later
Look at the likes of Deus EX HR
Seen it about now for a tenner new

But it will still sell.
