[PAX, Wii U, 3DS] Nintendo Australia details their PAX Australia line-up
[Image: game-news-image-2013-678e8ebebf541e36458...7f792a.jpg]
PAX Australia kicks off this weekend and I'll be there for all three days! I'm pretty excited to see what the first Australian version of PAX will look like, but I'm also expecting it to be a lot like other conventions that I've attended.

Today Nintendo Australia have sent out an e-mail detailing their line-up for attendees.

Wii U Pikmin 3The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HDSuper Mario 3D World

3DS The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between WorldsSonic Lost World

In addition to these games, the Nintendo booth will also feature plenty of competitive action in New Super Mario Bros. 2, Luigi's Mansion 2, Mario Kart 7, and Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Most important, the Nintendo booth will be housing the Pokémon Video Game Australian National Championship matches. The top two competitors in their age division will win flights, accommodation, and an invitation to the World Championships.

Lastly, a special Animal Crossing: New Leaf presentation will be shown in the Dropbear Theatre on Saturday afternoon (4:30pm). So Animal Crossing fans won't want to miss out!

So, who's coming to PAX Australia? More importantly, who else will be at the Kodiak Club on Saturday night for the Rooster Teeth after-party to partake in many alcoholic refreshments with me and my buddies?

Wii U Console Details Revealed in Nintendo Direct Video

Wii U Console Details Revealed in Nintendo Direct Video

REDMOND, Wash.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Nintendo released a global Nintendo Direct video revealing new information about the upcoming Wii U game console, including details about the system’s touch-screen controller, the Wii U GamePad. In the video, which can be viewed online at http://www.youtube.com/nintendo, Nintendo Global President Satoru Iwata illustrates how Wii U will revolutionize how people connect with games, each other and entertainment through the system’s unique and integrated second-screen controller. The Nintendo Direct video included information about:

New ways to play: With the television and the Wii U GamePad working as two integrated screens, Wii U creates unique possibilities for gaming, allowing “asymmetric” game play where each player can have different goals, challenges and views within the same shared gaming experience.

Miiverse: Miiverse is a brand-new network communication system that lets gamers from around the world share experiences, discuss games and discover new content. Using their personalized Mii character, players enter Miiverse and see games, applications or entertainment content that either they have interacted with recently, expressed interest in learning more about or that their friends are using or discussing. From here they can challenge their friends to play together, ask a question about a difficult level or discover new elements of their favorite games they never knew existed. After a notable achievement or other share-worthy moment, players can pause their game or application and seamlessly post messages to the Miiverse community.

Wii U GamePad controls: In addition to the previously announced touch-screen and motion controls, the Wii U GamePad was redesigned and improved from its reveal in 2011. The new form factor offers players dual analog stick controls and can be used as a remote control for users’ TVs, even while the Wii U console is turned off. Nintendo also announced availability of the Wii U Pro Controller as a separate peripheral.

Wii compatibility: All game discs for the Wii system are compatible with Wii U, and the system will support controllers for the Wii system.

Additional information about Wii U will be revealed at the Nintendo All-Access Presentation @ E3 2012, beginning at 9 a.m. Pacific time on Tuesday, June 5. To follow all of Nintendo’s news and announcements from the E3 Expo, visit http://e3.nintendo.com, and watch for updates on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

Nikkei RUMOR: Larger 3DS Soon, Wii U Price Details

Nikkei is reporting that Nintendo will announce a new revision of the Nintendo 3DS with a 4.3 inch screen (1.5 times the current size). This could release in North America, Japan and Europe as early as this Summer. They’re also reporting that the Wii U price is expected to be around 30,000 yen (around $380), though it’s not clear if this is from an inside source or simply speculation. Nikkei is also reporting Wii U will have various non-gaming content like a car navigator, books, and a karaoke service including around 10,000 songs.

This is not confirmed, but Nikkei has a pretty good track record so there is a good probability of these being true. It’s unclear if this 3DS XL of sorts will be announced at E3 or later. And that Wii U price could indicate a $299 or $249 launch price in the US, though Nintendo has already said we won’t hear price details at E3. Stay tuned to NintendoFuse for the latest on this report.

Note: The Nintendo 3DS XL logo is a mockup, it’s not real.

[Captivate'12, PC, PS3, X360] Resident Evil 6 gets a new trailer, new details

[Captivate'12, PC, PS3, X360] Resident Evil 6 gets a new trailer, new details
Captivate 2012 (Capcom's little media circus) recently ended its embargo period, and now we are being faced with a downpour of new information. Among this is what will no doubt be considered their flagship 2012 release in the form of Resident Evil 6. You can check out the new trailer below.
As indicated, Resident Evil 6 will be released on both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on the 2nd of October (Moved forward from the original 20th of November release date) with a PC release soon to follow. The game will tell three unique stories that will each feature fully fledged co-op enjoyment as well.

Capcom detailed some enemies that you can expect to face off against including the long-awaited return of zombies. Zombies have been absent from the franchise for a few installments now but are now back with new abilities such as being able to run, use items and jump at players, elevating their threat level. Two new enemies were also detailed, including the J'avo who are able to regenerate body parts and can even mutate them into a variety of different forms when they take substantial damage as well as Chrysalide (Born from the C-Virus) whom take the ability to mutate even further undergoing a full metamorphosis and creating a whole host of horrifying new creatures.

Mercenaries was also confirmed to be making a return when Resident Evil 6 ships this October, as well as the improved control scheme that will allow players to navigate their way around the virus-torn world with greater ease and convenience.

Fans will be able to take the demo for a spin when they pick up a copy of Dragon's Dogma, the demo will go live for Xbox 360 users on the 3rd of July and for PlayStation 3 users on the 4th of September.

Will you be joining Leon S. Kennedy, Chris Redfield and Jake Muller (son of the infamous Albert Wesker) for another journey into the Resident Evil franchise this October?

[Captivate'12, PS3, X360] DmC: Devil May Cry details might make you cry or cheer

[Captivate'12, PS3, X360] DmC: Devil May Cry details might make you cry or cheer
Recently the Devil May Cry HD Collection was released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, allowing a new generation of gamers to take in Dante's classic adventures. Once eager fans have had their fill they'll be able to look forward to his new action-packed game arriving sometime in 2012, over at Captivate they revealed some more details about what you'll be able to expect from the game as well as this new trailer.
The game is a retelling of Dante's early days set against a contemporary backdrop, it promises to keep the style and flair that sets Devil May Cry titles apart from your average hack-and-slash games whilst putting a new spin on the franchise. Dante is, of course, the child of a demon and an angel and finds himself stuck in between two worlds as a result. This has a real affect on his split personality and allows him to harness the power of both angel and demon abilities. He brings his trusty sword, Rebellion, with him and can transform it on the fly as well as switch to his guns when the situation calls for it.

No release date has been solidified yet but Capcom also mentioned that some familiar faces would appear in this game as well as a whole bunch of new faces. Who would you like to see return? Virgil? Trish? Lady? Nero?

And yes. It looks like it might actually be called DmC: Devil May Cry, or at least this is what it is being referred to. That's going to get confusing.

[PC, PS3, X360] Assassin's Creed 3 gameplay details leaks

[PC, PS3, X360] Assassin's Creed 3 gameplay details leaks
[Image: game-news-image-2012-99bbaba705785086006...9732fa.jpg]
So yeah, we don't officially know anything about Assassin's Creed III besides the fact that it is set during the American Revolution but now some additional details pertaining to the gameplay and world from the April issue of Game Informer.

The main character is half English and half Mohawk Indian, he is called Connor / Ratohnhake:ton. Yes, he'll have hidden blades as well as having the tomahawk and knife constantly equipped to allow for multiple takedowns and chain kills. There will also be no more target locking in the third main installment, with counter and defense now being attached to the same button. You'll be able to use a number of context sensitive actions, such as using people as human shields. A new dynamic camera will track the action to make the combat and gameplay look even more cinematic than previous entries.

[Image: game-news-image-2012-6213c0412109835b38f...4cfc0d.jpg]
Assassin's Creed III will allow you to experience Connor's childhood on the frontier. The Mohawk clash with white colonists, who in the end burn down their village causing Connor to dedicate his life to confronting injustice and tyranny. Don't fret about the overall story though, it is still focused on the Assassins versus the Templars.

It is set during the years 1753-1783 around the areas of Boston and New York. Some of the main characters you'll meet include George Washington, Ben Franklin (who plays the role that da Vinci in previous Assassin's Creed titles), and the mysterious Charles Lee. You'll see the great fire of New York and you'll visit the Valley Forge when it is occupied by Washington's forces.

This time the world is centered on The Frontier, the area is 1.5 times larger than the world of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. By the sounds of it you can expect the gameplay to feature some very Red Dead Redemption-like qualities, such as hunting and pelt gathering. People wondering how climbing and parkour will work in this game needn't worry, there'll be cliffs, trees and ledges to allow you to set up kills and select opportune moments to enter combat. Also, Connor will have hidden blade, a lot of people had been fretting after not having seen them in any art.

[3DS] Fire Emblem: Awakening trailer, DLC details

[3DS] Fire Emblem: Awakening trailer, DLC details
Fire Emblem has been one of my favourite franchises that Nintendo has, unfortunately I have been disheartened by recent additions. Thankfully, it looks like the new one might be out to turn that around. You can check out the first official trailer fresh from Nintendo Direct below.
Nintendo will be releasing DLC for this installment as well that will consist of new maps and episodes. The first DLC pack will be available for free up until the 31st of May when the game releases in Japan.

No release date was announced for America or Europe, but Nintendo did label it as a tentative 2012 release so stay tuned for more news!

[PC, PS3, X360] Rumour: More Dead Space 3 plot details sneak out

[PC, PS3, X360] Rumour: More Dead Space 3 plot details sneak out
The mole that shed some potential light on what we can expect from Dead Space 3 is at it again according to a new report from Siliconera. This time the mole delves into some more detail about the mental state of Isaac Clarke, who has had his fair share of psychological trauma throughout both Dead Space 1 and Dead Space 2.

It is worth noting that if these end up being true, then the rest of the text could be considered hypothetical spoilers. So tread lightly.

[Image: game-news-image-2011-c3a70eca4cf5160c7dd...fecccd.png]
It sounds like Isaac's own worst enemy will be himself this time, with the mole alluding to the existence of a 'Shadow Isaac' in Dead Space 3. A split personality who will actively be pointing out flaws in Isaac Clarke as the game progresses as well as taunting him at any given chance. One such example is that later in the game Isaac falls into a tunnel, to which Shadow Isaac calls him an 'idiot'. He'll complain that this rescue mission isn't his mission and Shadow Isaac will remind him he turns his back on all the wrong things. And, by the sounds of it, just being a downright jerk throughout the game.

It'll be interesting to see if this ends up being a part of the game, considering his past hang-ups on Nicole from Dead Space 1 this does kind of seem like the next obvious step. We shall continue to await official word from EA as always. Hopefully we'll hear something sooner rather than later, I'm craving another hit of Dead Space.

[TGS '11, Vita] New Vita Details, Japan Release Date

See, this is why the handheld gaming industry is going down the tube. They're trying to turn these things into what are essentially smart phones, but they only end up more expensive with worse battery life and less software.

The reason the DS and Advance gameboy lined sold so well was due to the fact that they were truly game-dedicated, portable handheld gaming machines. Take for instance the DSi. It had upwards of 10 hours in battery life, it fit easily in your pocket, the controls were smooth, it was a cinch to program for which made it heavenly for developers and provided more games for the consumer.

Now examine the current state of handhelds- 1/3 the battery life, gimmicks up the arse, a pitiful selection of games compared to what was previously offered, and too much bulk to ever being capable of fitting in your pocket. It's just a fail, up and down.

3DS needs to get better battery life, forget the extra circle pad and move on, drop the price another $50, and focus on steller 1st and third party software. If it does that, it'll do great. But, who knows when and if that will happen.

Likewise, the vita needs to get better battery life, get even a measly 8gb of on-board memory (which would NOT be that big of a deal), and stop focusing on all these "extra features" and more on pumping out some stellar titles. In a way, in its in the same boat as 3DS, except it costs $70 more, which currently gives it a huge disadvantage.

These manufacturers just don't get it: cheap, long-lastly, small, with great games. That's what a truly great handheld should be.

Monster Hunter Tri G Details

This informative little blurb comes courtesy of andriasang, so thank you for this info on Monster Hunter Tri G!

A few new details on Monster Hunter 3G and Nintendo’s new slide pad peripheral have surfaced following our initial report from earlier in the day.

Like all the “G” titles, Monster Hunter 3G is an expanded version of its predecessor, in this case Wii’s Monster Hunter 3. The 3G version will include a few changes to the world of the Wii version, but will live up to the G name of being packed with content.

The MH3 water elements that were absent from PSP’s Monster Hunster Portable 3rd, also an expanded version of MH3, are in MHP3G. The game is said to have a slightly different control feel for its water segments, while still retaining the overall feel of 3's water play.

One new control feature will make use of the system’s lower touch screen. By touching, you’ll be able to make your character automatically turn to face larger beasts.

Other features mentioned in Famitsu include local wireless play and a new main cover monster named Blakidios (I’m not sure if this is a totally new monster of it it’s from a past title — the name doesn’t come up in the Monster Hunter Wiki).

A release is planned for the end of the year, Famitsu reports. The game will be playable at Tokyo Game Show next week.

Famitsu’s report on the slide pad attachment appears to be in the form of a news story. This probably means that Nintendo will make an official announcement either today or tomorrow (when the magazine actually hits retail)

[PC, PS3, X360] DICE details Alpha Trial and Beta invites for Battlefield 3

[PC, PS3, X360] DICE details Alpha Trial and Beta invites for Battlefield 3
[Image: game-news-image-2011-abdd8b326a27dd28eea...81213e.jpg]
Are you excited by the idea of playing Battlefield 3 early? Well, so are a lot of users and now DICE has played up a brief but helpful 'Question & Answer' section to answer any questions you may have. We'll repost what they have written to help you out.
Quote:How can I get into the Alpha Trial?
It is a highly tech focused test period where the main purpose is to do a number of server related tests in preparation for game launch requiring a set amount of players online to ensure the final experience is as much fun and easy as possible.

Is this the Beta promised to buyers of Medal of Honor: Limited Edition?
No, this is an Alpha Trial, meaning this software is still not at the "Beta" development milestone. The Open Beta will start in September. The exact date for when Medal of Honor: Limited Edition players can join the Beta will be announced at a later date.

Can I join the Battlefield 3 Closed Alpha Trial?
The Alpha is a closed test and by invitation only. If you'd like to have a chance to be called upon make sure to register for our newsletter and ensure your Veteran status is up to date.
We are also not giving away keys to the Alpha Trial on any of our social networking platforms.

Recently a Medal of Honor: Limited Edition Beta newsletter went out to users. What is that all about?
Well, that newsletter says you are entitled to play the beta in September. It is however not a ticket or a code. If you purchased a copy of Medal of Honor with the Battlefield 3 Beta sticker on it, you are eligible for the Beta. If you have not received the newsletter, make sure you opt in on your EA Profile to receive them. Also, if you haven´t received the newsletter and own a copy of Medal of Honor: Limited edition, you are eligible to play in the beta.

If you have any questions then be sure to hit up the author of the Q&A on Twitter and they'll reply to as best they can.

Shinobi 3DS – Leaked Details and Video

The trailer claims that the games have been re-imagined for the 3DS, so it’s likely that we’ll see some nifty 3D effects thrown in for good measure. For Shinobi fans, this can only be seen as good news.

Here’s the leaked trailer so you can see for yourself:

There are a few notable exceptions from the Shinobi canon such as the lacklustre Cyber Shinobi on the Master System and the rather nifty GG Shinobi (the first Game Gear Shinobi game) which is already confirmed as a download on the 3DS Virtual Console service. The less said about the Gameboy Advance Revenge of Shinobi game the better.

[NGP] Uncharted NGP Details Emerge [UPDATE]

[NGP] Uncharted NGP Details Emerge [UPDATE]
[Image: game-news-image-2011-04c1553947c74b94a01...4d4f58.jpg]

Update: Gameblog.fr was corrected by Christophe Balestra regarding the chronology, and it was confirmed that Uncharted Portable will be set before Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.

Naughty Dog Co-President Christophe Balestra in an interview with gameblog.fr, that was translated by eurogamer, shed some details regarding the upcoming Uncharted title that's headed to Sony's upcoming NGP handheld.

According to the interview, Uncharted Portable (Working Title) will be set between Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves before the events of Uncharted: Drakes' Fortune, and will "most likely" feature interaction with Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception.

Balestra also said that Uncharted Portable will have a different pacing structure than it's predecessors. Sony Bend wants to focus on more exploration and less gunfights to allow the players more time between action sequences so they can play in short bursts.

With that, we're left with the hope that we'll see more of Uncharted Portable at E3 2011. What do you expect out of this new Uncharted title that's isn't coming from Naughty Dog?

I don't have LBP. Heard great stuff about it.

This is pretty cool, no sarcasm. I mean, I survived those three weeks, just fine... and I get free games? Better than nothing, man.

They had also said something about getting PSN+ free for a month. Does that mean that we get the PSOne classics that are free for PSN+ members, for free, too? (I believe I once saw CTR: Crash Team Racing for free for PSN+ members.)

Nintendo Financial Results Briefing 4/26/11 Details

Nintendo’s Financial Results Briefing happened in Japan, and here is what I’ve been able to gather from it. I will only post new details/announcements. Please keep in mind that this information may not be entirely accurate. Check it out:

- No new details on the Wii successor, Iwata says it’s a new concept and structure for a home console, details at E3
- Still pushing Wii, will be releasing one title every month to push its performance, Wii Play: Motion is one of the new titles
- For the 3DS, they need to offer an incentive to use StreetPass and system updates, so they’ll offer free classic games, Nintendo eShop, and Internet Browser; this will launch end of May
- They possibly mention that the 3D Classics version of Excitebike will be distributed for free
- Title line-up improves going forward for the 3DS: Dead or Alive on May 19th, Unlimited Cruise on May 26th, Biohazard on June 2nd, Zelda on June 16th, Tales of the Abyss on June 30th, StarFox on July 14th, Kid Icarus is “after Summer”, new titles post-Summer, Super Mario 3DS shown at E3
- For the Virtual Console on the eShop, they have Game Boy and Game Boy Color games, but after that Nintendo wants to add more
- Mentions tablets and says that for better gaming responses they need buttons, so they won’t have machines without buttons
- Nintendo will accommodate social networking, but will not have their games appear on any non-Nintendo platform
- Admitted previously that they relied too much on their own, so now they won’t do everything on their own, expect to see something on that at E3
- They are planning first party releases around third parties
- Made a decision to announce the Wii successor because of logistics for getting people to E3, still want surprises at E3
- Vitality Sensor still in development, but the challenge is that it’s easy to make it work for 80% of the people, but very difficult to get that up to 99%
