[Wii, Wii U] Dragon Quest X unveiled, features online RPG elements

Did you stay up for the Dragon Quest X reveal? If not, it managed to sneak out a little earlier anyway but here's some solid talk on Square Enix's upcoming title. The game is being developed for Nintendo's Wii and Wii U and will feature online elements.

When you play the game, you'll have the option to create your own character from a handful of selected races including: dwarf, elf, ogre, "weddy" (blue, aquatic things) and "pukuripo" (cute little robed creatures). Humans were seen in the trailer, but not in the screenshots so it is currently unknown if they will be a selectable race.

A little notification on the Dragon Quest X website also seemingly hints at the potential implementation of usage fees. However, Square Enix have not yet decided if they'll pursue that idea further at this point. Both the Wii and Wii U releases have a tentative release date of 2012 at this point.

cool. i played dragon quest IX and thought it was pretty good, except for the absence of an online game mode instead they just gave u a way to get rare items, so the fact of actual online gameplay sounds exciting but i really liked the celestrians so the fact their not there disappoints me. but these new races seem more exciting so really it's got it's good and bad bits, but i'm definitely getting it. i never played any dragon quest games othe than dragon quest IX and i dont know how, but i seemed to miss every other dragon quest i mean i only learned of the existance of dragon quest when dragon quest IX came out. POKÉMON IS NUMBER 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DPrinny

Im sure there was some that made it out of Japan before that.
