"We see Homefront as a really strong universe that has a lot of potential and that has been expertly created and marketed by THQ," said Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli. Despite the first game being nearly universally panned by critics the title still managed to ship roughly 2.6 million copies by the end of March 2011.
Yerli also suggests that Crytek have been given a fair amount of creative freedom over development of the Homefront sequel, however it will take some time. The game is currently scheduled to launch on PC and consoles in THQ's fiscal 2014.
