Electronic Arts purchased PopCap for a cool billion dollars, but Angry Birds developer (Rovio) believes that their value is north of PopCap's.

Ville Heijari, vice president of franchise development, believes their value is "north of PopCap". “A lot of people look at our game and say, ‘Who do these guys think they are with their one title?’” Heijari added. He noted that in addition to the PopCap deal, another Rovio peer, Zynga is “aiming for a $US1 billion [initial public offering.]” Heijari also talks about how they are perceived for only really having one major release and goes on to explain that the subtle differences in both Seasons and Rio make up for the fact that they are using the Angry Birds property.

According to Heijari, Rovio had received several inquiries last summer involving companies looking to show interest in purchasing them but they hadn't taken any serious offers on board.

Rovio's ever-increasing own vision of their self-worth is impressive, but they seem to forget that they are only really known for one IP, Angry Birds. PopCap are known for several big properties, so this can most likely be chalked up to be all talk.
