[360, PS3, PC] Bethesda Softworks announce Dishonored

Bethesda Softworks have confirmed they'll be publishing an all new first-person action game under development at Arkane Studios - Dishonored, which will release on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Windows PC during 2012. It will be the studios first title since being acquired by ZeniMax in 2010.

The creative minds behind the game may excite you as they are behind some well known titles. The co-creative directors are Raphael Colantonio, lead designer on Arx Fatalis, and Harvey Smith, lead designer on Deus Ex. Both extremely talented, but will the interesting premise of Dishonored turn into a solid experience?

The first person action/stealth game has you playing as Corvo, former bodyguard to the Empress, who has been falsely accused of murder and will seek vengeance using supernatural powers, stealth, gadgets and some straight up combat. The game sounds part Thief, part Deus Ex and if Dishonored successfully blends features from those games together then Arkane Studios will have a hit on their hands.

“At Arkane we have a passion for creating deep, immersive game experiences,” said Colantonio. “To be able to finally share details of our project is both extremely exciting and satisfying.”
