After the leak of Project Cafe, the dam continues to pour out with details on Nintendo's next-gen console.
This time the rumored technical specifications have been called out. According to sources, the console will feature a look similar to "a modernized version of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES)". Internal the console will be powered by AMD's R700 GPU which is said to outperform the NVIDIA 7800GTX found in the Playstation 3. Additionally, the CPU will be a custom triple-core IBM PowerPC similar to the Xbox 360's but with a higher clock speed. The system will naturally be able to output in 1080p as well as stereoscopic 3D although that has yet to be nailed down as a feature.
It is also noted that one of the names floating around Nintendo HQ seems to be 'Stream'.
E3 can't get here fast enough.
Written by: Norman FordSounds impressive. Stream is a pretty slick name too.
Assuming this is all true, Nintendo must have one hell of a leak for all this information to get out.

It is a double-edged approach though, because then what happens if certain groups of people aren't happy when you don't deliver features that were "rumoured" about leading up to launch. Honestly, it does sound possible though. Nintendo must know they aren't popular with the hardcore and a good way to catch interest is do this sort of stuff. Get people talking about this sort of stuff and a lot will be watching Nintendo at E3.
Shigeru Miyamoto warned not to believe everything you read recently, so that helps.
Even if Nintendo don't announce anything about a new platform at E3, they are fine. Because they never confirmed that they were going to in the first place.
It'll be interesting to see how all this unfolds.
