A lot of Mega Man fans were saddened recently when Capcom announced that Mega Man Universe had been dropped. Some people were left concerned as to where this would leave Mega Man Legends 3, the long-awaited third installment that was being developed for the Nintendo 3DS.
Luckily, it is still well on the way. In fact, Capcom have circulated word that they will be helping kick off the launch of the Nintendo eShop in May by releasing Mega Man Legends 3: Prototype Version. Prototype Version will give eager fans a taste of what is to come as well as introduce a new character to the franchise. Barrett, a reckless leader of a sky biker gang, is going to be introduced to gamers. Be among the first to try out his new close combat style of gameplay as well as being a first-hand witness to the fan contributions that have bought the game to life. Once you have finished the core missions you will receive access to areas of the game that are not yet finished as well as a debug menu that will grant you access to special moves and abilities.
Once you experience it, you'll be able to head on over to Capcom Unity's Dev Room and you'll be able to let your voice be heard. Capcom want the fans to help them shape the game, so whether your ideas are big or small be sure to get them out there. You never know, they might implement your idea and get your name in the credits.
The Nintendo eStore is due to launch in late May for everyone, Prototype Version will be available when the store launches.
