It assumed that whenever one reads the Half-Life 3 in the headline of any news story that rumour must additionally be attached, this story is no different.

Okay, so with that out of the way we can get into the meat of this story. Inside Gaming Daily has been doing some snooping and came across two tweets that could be related, one is a quote from Half-Life 2 by IGN's Twitter feed and another is from Valve informing fans to be sure to check all of their feeds. Those could be related, they could not be.

Things are about to get somewhat more interesting though. Observe one web domain: http://orange.half-life3.com/apache2-default/ which links to a blank page except for the text "It works!"

Now, this could mean anything really, I mean the url contains the infamous Half-Life 3 tag but that's far from any sort of confirmation. However, when you check the WhoIs on the domain you'll discover that it is in fact owned by the guys at Valve. Those who know a thing or two about domains will also know that '/apache2-default/' is a typical sight for when people have just installed apache, a website engine.

Not to mention this is just a little over a week after we learned about Gabe's cute little trick, using Ricochet 2 as a code word instead of saying Half-Life 3. Here's the story on that in case you missed it.

Obviously, this is not confirmation. It could just be nothing. But Half-Life 2 came with the Orange Box, maybe Valve is planning another Orange Box with a new Half-Life? Weigh in on this topic in the discussion, E3 is just around the corner after all!

Play some card games with the cast of Zelda

by Writer RSS on Apr 15th 2012 8:00PM

ImageSome days are sad, some days are happy, and some are just packed full of Zelda for some reason. Today is one of those days and we're not complaining -- Fangamer is selling a pack of Zelda-themed playing cards designed by DeviantArt user Nelde, and they are utterly gorgeous.

The face cards feature famous Zelda characters, including Zelda, Link, Dark Link, Mikau, Darmani and more. The suits have been updated as well, to rupees, swords, heart bits and triforces. Fangamer warns that the decks won't ship until May, but the good people of Zelda Universe say they already received their orders, so go ahead and take a chance on love. Or Zelda cards.

Or both. It's just that kind of day.

Nicalis: WiiWare sales 'almost non-existent,' La-Mulana canceled for NA / EU

by Writer RSS on May 1st 2012 10:15AM

Publisher Nicalis announced last night on Twitter that it would not publish the retro-inspired, cave-exploring WiiWare game, La-Mulana, neither in North America nor Europe. The publisher informed GoNintendo that WiiWare sales are "almost non-existent" and that it would be "near impossible to sell sufficient units on WiiWare" to make it worth its efforts.

"The WiiWare market has a fraction of the players from 2008," Nicalis producer Tyrone Rodriguez wrote in a statement. "The window for release and success of software on the platform ended in 2009 and took a very steep decline. Players have moved onto other digital download platforms."

Even after being released in Japan last November, and being announced locally by Capcom the same month, it's still surprising to see extra functionality.

It's still surprising to see a Wii Virtual Console game.
