Michael Bay trailer for Need for Speed: The Run doesn't remind us of anything

Michael Bay knows his way around swiftly moving metal machines, which may be why EA Black Box recruited him to direct a cinematic trailer for Need for Speed: The Run. It's fast-paced, sleek, sexy and gritty, and we could easily see it, starring Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox's lips, in the previews before The Rum Diary. However, EA would have to change the name. Need for Speed: Rise of the Runatron, would work, we think.

Look, just because it's Halloween season doesn't mean everything has to be Halloween oriented, okay? We love costumes and candy as much as the next website, but if we see the word "spooktacular" one more time we're going to straight-up gouge our own brains out.

Amazon, at least, has the common courtesy to run a non-festive, yet entirely excellent buy 2, get 1 free sale in lieu of the expected, ghoulish sales promotions extended by other corporations. The sale applies to a boat-load of fresh hotness like Batman: Arkham City, Dark Souls and The ICO and Shadow of the Colossus Collection, so check it out if you'd rather spend $120 on new games rather than new cavities.

Lego Harry Potter: Years 5-7 has this release-date thing figured out

Warner Bros., of course, has access to the best wizards of our age and it was able to calculate the most profitable day to release Lego Harry Potter: Years 5-7 -- 11-11-11.
