[PC, PS3, X360] Here's a peek at BioShock Infinite's Burial at Sea Elizabeth model

Mixed reactions echoed across the internet when Irrational confirmed they would be returning to Rapture for the upcoming BioShock Infinite DLC expansions; I was among those voicing a mixed reaction.

On one hand I am very excited to see what Irrational will do with the narrative in Rapture featuring both Booker and Elizabeth, but at the same time I'm concerned that returning to Rapture could spoil the magic. This isn't surprising considering I was pretty annoyed with nearly every aspect of BioShock 2; I felt that Rapture's story was done. You can consider me a skeptic; a title that I'll happily take on.

Anyway, here's your first proper look at the more mature Elizabeth that will be playable in the second episode of Burial at Sea; don't worry, she won't play like another Booker. I guess for this very reason I'm actually excited to see how Elizabeth will handle in episode two, because I found the combat in Infinite to be quite unimpressive.

Thanks for the heads up, Destructoid.

[PC, PS3, X360] BioShock: Infinite's 'Boys of Silence' are definitely creepy

[PC, PS3, X360] BioShock: Infinite's 'Boys of Silence' are definitely creepy
Big Daddy was a pretty intimidating sight in the original BioShock and then Big Sisters were a mixture of creepy and intimidating in BioShock 2 but it does seem that Irrational have outdone themselves this time.

Introducing the Boys of Silence. I know I'll certainly be treading carefully through BioShock: Infinite.

Gamers can pick up the new BioShock on the 16th of October for PC, PlayStation and Xbox 360.

The guys over at Irrational Games had been somewhat quiet when it came to talking release dates for their upcoming title, BioShock: Infinite. Today they have broken that silence and confirmed that gamers will be able to get their hands on the finished product as of the 16th of October in America (with the 19th of October as the international date) for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Are you guys excited to get your hands on the newest BioShock game? Are you also hopeful that it will wash away your memories of BioShock 2?

Stay tuned for more news.

We don't how crowded Q4 will be anyway.

We know we have this, AC3, BlOps 2, MoH: Warfighter, and the Wii U at this point. Of those I'm only getting this and the Wii U. Essentially I have smooth sailing ahead, unless something is announced that throws me off.

[PC, PS3, X360] BioShock Infinite's '1999 Mode' might intimidate the average gamer

[PC, PS3, X360] BioShock Infinite's '1999 Mode' might intimidate the average gamer

There's no denying that a lot of modern games encourage a certain laziness in gamers these days, but BioShock Infinite is taking steps to mix things up a little. When you play the game, you'll have the option of playing on '1999 Mode' to give yourself an extra challenge.

What is '1999 Mode' you ask? Well, it starts by increasing the difficulty through some very interesting tweaks here and there. For example, in '1999 Mode' the player picks a specialisation and sticks with it, all subsequent actions are ruled by that solitary decision. Ammunition will be more difficult to come by, any small portion of health will be precious, and if you bite the dust then you'd better have the resources to revive yourself or it'll be curtains for you.

This is in opposition to the standard mode that gamer's will be able to choose upon booting up BioShock Infinite in which health and ammo are relatively easy to find, reviving yourself is a regular occurence and choosing one skill over another won't cripple you.

Ken Levine acknowledges that non-hardcore gamers are going to hate this mode, and that's okay because it isn't for them. Hardcore gamers are no doubt going to start getting very excited over this news leading up to BioShock Infinite's launch.
