[E3'12, PC, PS3, Wii U, X360] Assassin's Creed III gets a new trailer, stage demo
Assassin's Creed II was a damn good game. It then received two sequels, Brotherhood and Revelations, which were not quite as strong. However, Ubisoft is striving for a return to form with the latest and is taking the franchise to a whole new location. Check out the new E3 2012 trailer below.
However, the game also received an actual stage demo as well. So if you're wondering how Connor's adventure will play out and handle then you'll want to tune in and check it out.

Assassin's Creed on Kinect makes people look like Fools, also it's April
on Apr 1st 2012 3:30PM
A dark, cynical part of us truly enjoys April Fools' day. We already have severe trust issues with the world at large, and one day a year we're allowed to look at every single person with a complete lack of belief or respect and have it be totally normal. We're proud to say that while we watched the above trailer for Assassin's Creed on Kinect, the expression on our faces was absolutely normal.

Assassin's Creed 3 for Wii U puts the Animus, weapons in your hands
on Mar 26th 2012 4:00PM
In Assassin's Creed 3, the Wii U's WiiPad will act as a link to the Animus, providing players a constant map and navigation tool, and displaying Animus database updates on the touchscreen without interrupting the main game, NintenGen reports, via the latest issue of Nintendo Gamer. The Wii U's Animus integration will also provide character bios and act as an encyclopedia for the game's goings-on, making fact-checks for historical accuracy easier than ever. The above trailer isn't specific to the Wii U, but does show off some character and weapon descriptions that the Wii U is purported to support.
The Wii U will provide weapon-selection options, meaning the switch between dual-wielding and single-weapon combat will be a one-touch process. The WiiPad screen will also be an alternate view for Eagle Vision, allowing players to move the controller itself to search their surroundings.
Today we have a heap of new Assassin's Creed 3 information for your eagle eyes to devour; scavenge for the good bits right here.
[Multi] Assassin's Creed III Special Editions Revealed
As Ubisoft continues to build up the massive hype train following Assassin's Creed III, the publisher unveiled three different special editions for the game today.
The first and most comprehensive of the bunch, called "The Freedom Edition" includes a figurine of protagonist Connor, steel case, George Washington's notebook containing secrets about the Assassins and Templars, an exclusive lithograph, two additional single player missions("Lost Mayan Ruins" and "Ghost of War"), a "Sharpshooter" multiplayer package, and a collector box.

The next edition, called "The Join or Die Edition", comes with a different collector box, an Assassin medallion, George Washington's notebook, one additional single-player mission ("Ghost of War"), and the multiplayer package.
![[Image: game-news-image-2012-d51f818402e2cf1220f...9afaef.jpg]](/game-news-image-2012-d51f818402e2cf1220f44fd3919afaef.jpg)
Last and least, the "Special Edition" comes with its own unique packaging and an exclusive single-player mission called "A Dangerous Secret".
So far these special editions have only been announced for Australia, Europe, and Asia and will cost A$130, A$110, and A$90 for each respective edition, though we expect a similar announcement is imminent for North American gamers. These deals are also currently only available for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game, however we would be surprised if the same or similar editions aren't made available for PC and Wii U versions of the game as well. Assassin's Creed III becomes available on October 30.

[PC, PS3, X360] Rumour: Is this the star of Assassin's Creed 3?
Salt should be prepared, but Kotaku has claimed to have received an e-mail from a Best Buy employee featuring possible character art from the upcoming Assassin's Creed III. The e-mail also talks about how Ubisoft will be revealing the game on the 5th of March and details that there will be pre-order bonuses.
You can click on the image for a larger version. As you can see from the character art it definitely looks like we're going to be taking a trip to the American Revolution (which had been hinted at awhile ago for the third installment). The new character can be seen wielding a tomahawk (with a blade styled like the Assassin's Creed insignia), wearing an 18th century military jacket, jewellry, etc.
This is all unconfirmed at this point, but expect Ubisoft to move soon. They are already planning a major announcement in a few days, one would assume it will related to Assassin's Creed III.

[PC, PS3, X360] Assassin's Creed 3 gameplay details leaks
![[Image: game-news-image-2012-99bbaba705785086006...9732fa.jpg]](/game-news-image-2012-99bbaba705785086006471e2209732fa.jpg)
So yeah, we don't officially know anything about Assassin's Creed III besides the fact that it is set during the American Revolution but now some additional details pertaining to the gameplay and world from the April issue of Game Informer.
The main character is half English and half Mohawk Indian, he is called Connor / Ratohnhake:ton. Yes, he'll have hidden blades as well as having the tomahawk and knife constantly equipped to allow for multiple takedowns and chain kills. There will also be no more target locking in the third main installment, with counter and defense now being attached to the same button. You'll be able to use a number of context sensitive actions, such as using people as human shields. A new dynamic camera will track the action to make the combat and gameplay look even more cinematic than previous entries.
![[Image: game-news-image-2012-6213c0412109835b38f...4cfc0d.jpg]](/game-news-image-2012-6213c0412109835b38fd018a1a4cfc0d.jpg)
Assassin's Creed III will allow you to experience Connor's childhood on the frontier. The Mohawk clash with white colonists, who in the end burn down their village causing Connor to dedicate his life to confronting injustice and tyranny. Don't fret about the overall story though, it is still focused on the Assassins versus the Templars.
It is set during the years 1753-1783 around the areas of Boston and New York. Some of the main characters you'll meet include George Washington, Ben Franklin (who plays the role that da Vinci in previous Assassin's Creed titles), and the mysterious Charles Lee. You'll see the great fire of New York and you'll visit the Valley Forge when it is occupied by Washington's forces.
This time the world is centered on The Frontier, the area is 1.5 times larger than the world of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. By the sounds of it you can expect the gameplay to feature some very Red Dead Redemption-like qualities, such as hunting and pelt gathering. People wondering how climbing and parkour will work in this game needn't worry, there'll be cliffs, trees and ledges to allow you to set up kills and select opportune moments to enter combat. Also, Connor will have hidden blade, a lot of people had been fretting after not having seen them in any art.

Assassin’s Creed III – Coming to Wii U & Trailer
SAN FRANCISCO — March 5, 2012 — Assassin’s Creed® III will hit store shelves on October 30, 2012, encouraging gamers to experience the American Revolutionary War not written about in history books. The largest project in Ubisoft’s history also introduces a new hero for the ages.
With a development cycle of over three years and twice the production capacity of any previous Ubisoft game, Assassin’s Creed III is set to release on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, Windows PC and is also in development for Wii U™ from Nintendo. Assassin’s Creed III is developed by Ubisoft Montreal in collaboration with six other Ubisoft studios.
Set against the backdrop of the American Revolution in the late 18th century, Assassin’s Creed III introduces a new hero, Ratohnhaké:ton, of Native American and English heritage. Adopting the name Connor, he becomes the new voice for justice in the ancient war between the Assassins and Templars. Players become an Assassin in the war for liberty against ruthless tyranny in the most stylized and fluid combat experiences in the franchise to date. Assassin’s Creed III spans the Revolutionary War, taking gamers from the vibrant, untamed frontier to bustling colonial towns and the intense, chaotic battlefields where George Washington’s Continental Army clashed with the imposing British Army.
Assassin’s Creed III is powered by Ubisoft-AnvilNext, a revolutionary new game engine that delivers breakthroughs in visual quality, character models and artificial intelligence. Assassin’s Creed III will feature a ground-breaking level of stunning graphics that bring Colonial America to life.
Tweet“Assassin’s Creed III features the franchise’s most expansive setting so far, along with an exciting new hero and exponentially more gameplay,” said Yves Guillemot, chief executive officer at Ubisoft. “Whether you’re a longtime fan of Assassin’s Creed or if you’re new to the franchise, you’re going to be blown away by the scale and marvel of Assassin’s Creed III.”

This is what I was thinking too. I don't know my American history too well but I suppose they could still use cities like Boston, New York, and/or Philadelphia?

Ubisoft shipped 13 million Just Dance games in 2011, nearly 7 million Assassin's Creed: Revelations
on Feb 15th 2012 1:00PM
Ubisoft announced big numbers for two of its major franchises in its latest earnings report -- two franchises that, dare we say it, are crying out for a crossover. The publisher reported a "near-30% increase" in dance game sales, including more than 13 million units shipped of its dance games -- a group including multiple Just Dances, and various celebrity "The Experience" games. Assassin's Creed Revelations, the forty-third Assassin's Creed game starring Ezio, hit "close to 7 million sell-in units," exceeding internal forecasts and, according to Ubisoft, hitting the #7 spot in worldwide sales for the year.
That should provide a clue as to why Ubisoft is continuing the franchise with Assassin's Creed 3, in which Desmond has to prepare for a date by reliving Ezio's advanced dance lessons. Okay, that last part was just us dreaming of a crossover again.

[Multi] Assassin's Creed 3 Dated for October 30
![[Image: game-news-image-2012-9112b905682d9255d20...084e4a.jpg]](/game-news-image-2012-9112b905682d9255d20e4999f0084e4a.jpg)
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemont announced during an earnings call today that Assassin's Creed 3 will be launching on October 30 of this year, however he didn't divulge any further details. He is saying that AC3 will be the biggest game in the series so far though and that development on the title has been underway for three years.
We already know that the third numbered entry in the popular franchise will finally wrap up Desmond's storyline and will feature both a new protagonist and a new setting for the series. Last year, Ubisoft conducted a survey that polled fans on which setting they would like to see in the next Assassin's Creed, which included such options as ancient Egypt (heavily rumored to be the favorite), feudal Japan, and the American Revolution, among others.
Platforms have not yet been specified either, leaving us to wonder if AC3 is the Assassin's Creed game that Ubisoft has already confirmed to be in development for the Wii U and/or PlayStation Vita. The series is yet to appear on a Nintendo home console.
