The Amazing Spider-Man lands June 26

by on Feb 23rd 2012 7:15PM

The Amazing Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood foray into the world of movie tie-in gaming, will be released on June 26 for the 360, PS3, Wii, 3DS and DS, according to Game Informer. This is ahead of the film's theatrical debut on July 3, and seeing as the game serves as an addendum to the film, our initial reaction was to worry about potentially spoiling the ending of the movie ahead of its release.

Spoilers. For The Amazing Spider-Man. While we reel in shame over the sheer stupidity of our own thoughts, check out the game's latest trailer above, courtesy of IGN's YouTube channel.

[PC, PS3, X360] #FemShepFriday brings us a new Mass Effect 3 trailer

[PC, PS3, X360] #FemShepFriday brings us a new Mass Effect 3 trailer
Awhile ago fans voted on a default look for the infamous 'FemShep' from BioWare's Mass Effect franchise. Now you can see the winning look in action in a brand new trailer. It is weird seeing a FemShep that doesn't look like my own (much like it is weird seeing a ManShep who doesn't look like mine) but regardless, the trailer certainly sets the stage.
Mass Effect 3 hits shelves on the 6th of March for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

POKEMON! What Do YOU Want in the Next Installment?

With the recent development of news that the Pokemon Kyurem might have a different form kind of form such as Giratina did, the question that is sprung is “What can GameFreak do different this time?” For starters, GameFreak has always been able to create a new feature, wrap it up, and call it game revolving around the Pokemon franchise. This time however, I hope that they try and add more story or try and add one of the past regions. As a huge fan of the originals, I have always wished for GameFreak to touch back to the Kanto region. Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen were awesome on the GameBoy Advance. However, I would love to see what kind of graphical enhancements and new features they could add to the Kanto Region. What they have done to the multi-player side of Pokemon is phenomenal, which I really do hope they continue to innovate in that department. Enough of my opinions though. What do you, the players, want to see in the next installment? New regions? More multi-player features? New Pokemon?!?!? Let us know in the comment section below!

Lego Star Wars sticking around for 10 more years

by on Feb 13th 2012 2:00PM

Lucasfilm has renewed its licensing deal with the Lego Group for 10 more years, meaning if you have a kid right now he can grow up with a guaranteed supply of Lego Star Wars video games and toys. If you don't have a kid any time soon, look at this as an opportunity to delay growing up for another decade.

Lego is currently developing products based on Star Wars: The Old Republic, and will be following up its most recent Lego Star Wars video game, The Clone Wars, some time during the next 10 years, we'd guess. The Lego Star Wars series has sold more than 30 million units worldwide since its launch in 2005.

[Multi] Australia's own R18+ could be put into action by January 2013

[Multi] Australia's own R18+ could be put into action by January 2013
[Image: game-news-image-2011-1f48de70b54c4a0552b...f736cf.jpg]
Australian's have been waiting a long time for an R18+ classification to be passed and that wait keeps feeling longer and longer. Finally we have reached the crossroads though, with the bill actually being introduced into parliament. Jason Clare, Federal Minister for Home Affairs, believes that the classification could come into effect by January in 2013 if it successfully passes through parliament.

Some people were a bit scared when a new Minister stepped in to replace Brendan O'Connor, but were relieved when they discovered that Jason Clare intended to stick to O'Connor's plan with introducing the R18+ classification.

"This will bring the classification categories for computer games into line with existing categories used to classify films, and make the Australian classification regime more consistent with international standards," Clare said in his second reading of the R18+ legislation in parliament.

He also talked about the passion that many Australian's had for this reform to take place and that many had been waiting for up to ten years for us to introduce it.

Federal parliament resumed as of the 7th of February and this bill still has to fight it's way through the houses. In order for it to pass through the Lower House (House of Representatives) it will require the support of at least two crossbench MPs. Up until this point all of the relevant crossbench MPs have been silent on their stance concerning the introduction of the classification.

Once it passes the Lower House it must then get through the Senate, to do this it will require support from either the coalition or the Greens. Luckily one of each has voiced support for the bill in the past.

All we can do now is hope that it successfully gets through both of the relevant houses, we'll update you guys as soon as we know more.

[PC] Civilization V Expansion Pack Coming this Spring
[Image: game-news-image-2012-be1616514d4b263121f...07d4de.jpg]
If Civilization V hasn't already sucked enough hours from your life, 2K Games is giving the game a healthy injection of new content in the Civilization V: Gods and Kings expansion pack scheduled for release in "late Spring 2012".

The expansion will include 27 new units, 13 new buildings, 9 new wonders, new city-states, and 9 new playable civilizations including the Netherlands, the Celts, and the Mayans. Additionally, three new scenarios will be available: the fall of Rome, explore the medieval era, and a Victorian science-fiction setting called "Empires of the Smoky Skies". One of the biggest additions though is the introduction of religion, which will allow you to grow your own religion by accumulating the new Faith resource. Finally, the AI and combat system will be tweaked and you will be able to establish embassies in other civilizations and send spies to steal technologies and information.

[PC] Diablo III potentially slips into the second quarter... sadly
[Image: game-news-image-2012-5283269f82c5f7a8610...cb753d.jpg]
Just when you think Diablo III is getting closer... it is snatched away from us by some unforeseen circumstance, this situation is no different. When Blizzard announced they were tinkering with some of the game's mechanics some more we knew it was going to be making that Q1 estimation.

Well, now our worst fears have become a reality with Blizzard confirming they are now scheduling to have the game ready for release by Q2 of 2012. What does this mean? Well, it means that they are now hoping to have it released by the 30th of June, 2012.

That may feel like an eternity away, but you can be sure that it will be worth the wait for those of you who spent hundreds of hours clicking through Diablo II

[PS3] Review Roundup - Twisted Metal

[PS3] Review Roundup - Twisted Metal
[Image: game-news-image-2012-5427c1da05c71eb01ae...416ede.jpg]IGN - 9/10 - "Like its predecessor from more than 15 years ago, Twisted Metal celebrates an eccentric kind of action that shoves fun down the collective throat of the gaming masses. It includes an enjoyable, challenging single-player campaign and incredible multiplayer support for both on and offline. Twisted Metal only falters when it comes to its storytelling and an occasionally stubborn lock-on system. Even with a transforming ice cream truck in its roster, Twisted Metal deserves some respect."

GameTrailers - 8.1/10 - "Like an old muscle car, Twisted Metal can be a bit rough around the edges, but once you get the engine warmed up, you can get a lot out of it. The more you invest, the more it gives, providing a fulfilling sense of mayhem whether you’re playing online or with friends at home."

Destructoid - 7/10 - "When it sticks to what it's good at, Twisted Metal provides plenty of homicidal -- if rather disposable -- entertainment. A number of modes and forced campaign levels that simply don't work, however, set the experience back, and I think that the game could have been truly superb had less effort gone into the failed aspects and more been poured into the type of Twisted Metal that fans know and love. For all its shortcomings and lack of depth, however, there really is no other car combat game that has the goods quite like Twisted Metal. It's a solid entry in a series that's difficult to hate, and hardcore destruction fans would do well to pick it up. "

Game Informer - 8.5/10 - "When Twisted Metal embraces the series traditions, it delivers the best action ever seen in the franchise. When it departs from convention, however, it becomes a hit or miss affair. Whether or not vehicular combat can strike a chord with gamers in 2012 the way it did in 1995 remains to be seen, but Twisted Metal is a blast when it’s firing on all cylinders."

Joystiq - 3.5/5 - "The constant struggle of trying to take out enemies and keep your own rig in check is as entertaining today as it was when it was first introduced back in the mid '90s. I just wish there wasn't so much muck to wade through before I got to Twisted Metal's gooey, rocket-blasted center. Should you decide to pick up Twisted Metal, do yourself a favor. Once the chore of the single-player story has been completed and you've unlocked a few things, head online and play with some human beings. You won't regret it."

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (NES) pulled from Virtual Console

by on Feb 14th 2012 11:00AM

You waited too long. It was only a couple bucks, but you thought, "I have time. It'll always be there. I'll get to it eventually." But now you can't download Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on the Virtual Console and your world is destroyed.

Honestly, it was a weird goal to have, but we didn't want to say anything. In each and every region, it seems the turtles have retreated from the Virtual Console. Nintendo World Report reports Konami cited an "expired license," the same issue that claimed TMNT Turtles in Time Re-Shelled.

There's no word on whether the turtles will return to the surface any time soon, so we've contacted Konami for more.

[Vita] Review Roundup - Uncharted: Golden Abyss

[Vita] Review Roundup - Uncharted: Golden Abyss
[Image: game-news-image-2012-aff4ecebb0956fe01c4...f7b1c2.png]Game Informer - 8/10 - "For the first time, we’re able to play a handheld game with the scale and production values of a home console title. The base level of craftsmanship on display in Golden Abyss means you’ll get your money’s worth – but not a penny more. I wish all the perspiration expelled in the making of the game had been complemented by a bit more inspiration."

GameSpot - 7/10 - "The action set pieces are great, but there's too few of them; the voice acting is exemplary, but the narrative doesn't do it justice; the touch and motion controls work well for some actions, but they ruin others. For every moment of enjoyment you have, something comes along to spoil it. Despite its problems, though, Golden Abyss still succeeds in delivering some intense, entertaining action and combat. It's not quite the full-blown Uncharted experience on the move that you might have hoped for, but it's damn close. And for that, it should be commended."

Eurogamer - 8/10 - "We shouldn't be too harsh on Sony Bend, however, because for the vast majority of the time, Golden Abyss is a cleverly constructed game that more than justifies its addition to a series already lathered in superlatives. While the absence of multiplayer means it won't last you as long as previous instalments, new control options have allowed the developers to line the seams of Drake's adventure with flashy tassels and detailing that make for a varied and entertaining outing - perhaps even more so than its big brothers. At the very least, that should solidify Sony Bend's reputation as a trustworthy custodian for PlayStation's growing pile of first-party treasures."

EGM - 7/10 - "Uncharted: Golden Abyss may serve as a Vita proof-of-concept, but it also serves as proof of a lesson to be learned: Don’t mess with something that isn’t broken. All the new moving Vita parts and features end up watering down what should be celebrated as a really great Uncharted story, but the diluted pacing, unnecessary minigames, and hit-or-miss (literally) controls keep this from being anywhere near the level of a console Uncharted."

GameTrailers - 8.6/10 - "Uncharted: Golden Abyss is a powerful tech demo for the PlayStation Vita, but it’s also an engaging game that’s a blast to play in spurts. Touch screen use is a little heavy-handed and it’s missing those “wow” moments we’re used to getting from the franchise, but it’s a solid action adventure with production values strong enough to quell any sense of system buyer’s remorse."

Ubisoft shipped 13 million Just Dance games in 2011, nearly 7 million Assassin's Creed: Revelations

by on Feb 15th 2012 1:00PM

Ubisoft announced big numbers for two of its major franchises in its latest earnings report -- two franchises that, dare we say it, are crying out for a crossover. The publisher reported a "near-30% increase" in dance game sales, including more than 13 million units shipped of its dance games -- a group including multiple Just Dances, and various celebrity "The Experience" games.

Assassin's Creed Revelations, the forty-third Assassin's Creed game starring Ezio, hit "close to 7 million sell-in units," exceeding internal forecasts and, according to Ubisoft, hitting the #7 spot in worldwide sales for the year.

That should provide a clue as to why Ubisoft is continuing the franchise with Assassin's Creed 3, in which Desmond has to prepare for a date by reliving Ezio's advanced dance lessons. Okay, that last part was just us dreaming of a crossover again.

Looks like the gloves are off now, as Blizzard and Valve head to court to engage in a legal dispute over a trademark request related to DOTA 2. The upcoming release is a spiritual successor to an incredibly popular WarCraft III modification, Defense of the Ancients. The project's lead designer is IceFrog, who was a modder who worked on keeping the mod going from 2005 until he joined Valve's DOTA 2 team sometime before it was announced in late 2010.

Both sides have been quite vocal about the case here, but this is the first time we've heard of it heading to the courts. Blizzard argues "for more than seven years... been used exclusively by Blizzard and its fan community" and that Valve does not have the claim to the name that they do. They claim that whilst no company actually owns the trademark they hold more of a claim on it than Valve.

As for Valve's side to the argument, Gabe Newell commented on the issue at last years Gamescom in an interview with Eurogamer. "The issue with that was, when we were talking with IceFrog originally, he wanted to build the sequel to DOTA," Newell said. "So the reason to call it Dota 2 is it actually does a pretty good job of communicating to gamers what it is the game is going to be."

It will interesting to see where this case leads, and you can be sure we'll have ears pressed to the ground for any further rumbles.

Phoenix Wright movie to premiere at AM2 convention this June, no objections

AM2 ANNOUNCES US PREMIERE OF THE MANGA BASED LIVE ACTION FILM ACE ATTORNEY

One of Many U.S. Film Premieres Happening this June 15-17, 2012 at the
Anaheim Convention Center and Anaheim Hilton! Get your Passports Today and
Experience the Difference!

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (February 15, 2012) The ever popular ACE ATTORNEY
(Gyakuten Saiban-2012/Mystery, Drama/Approx. 130 min) manga and video game
comes alive in this live action feature film to be screened EXCLUSIVELY at
this summer¹s most anticipated Anime, Manga and Music event AM2. Two
screenings will be available-one EXCLUSIVELY for Passport holders ONLY and
the second for Passport holders preferred (with general attendees as seating
permits). More info and attendee registration can be found at
www.am2con.org

First released in 2001 for the Nintendo ³GAME BOY², ACE ATTORNEY was ported
for the DS, PC, Wii. With four games in the series, Ace Attorney has sold
over 4.2 million copies worldwide. The series has been further popularized
and continues to build a new fan base via the advent of spinoff series Ace
Prosecutor (gyakuten-kenji in Japanese) to the game appearing on GREE,
Japan¹s leading social networking service and in comic book form. In 2008,
the Tokyo Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra performed a concert based on the
game, and the following year, the Takarazuka Revue Company started their
live musical performance of the series.

Set in a futuristic, fictional Japan courtroom where ³bench trials² have
been implemented to fight rising crime, the appealing amusement of Ace
Attorney has to be its leading character, hot-blooded, sometimes
4th-down-and-long-Hail-Mary rookie defense lawyer, Phoenix Wright. The
speedy storyline, filled with twists and turns of sheer enjoyment, unfolds
as Phoenix finds the truth and wins his case. Rising from the ashes when the
chips are down, he challenges the court with ³evidence² collected through
his own investigations and exposes the actual criminals and their pack of
lies.

The story structure of the film is based on the characters and amusing story
twists from the first work in the series. Penning the screenplay are none
other than the cop and courtroom drama master Takeshi Iida (writer for
SHINZANMONO and PARTNERS) as well as Sachiko Oguchi (KAIJI 2) who is popular
for her fast paced scripts. The director is hit-maker Takashi Miike,
world-renowned for his talent and the pride of the Japan filmmaking world
whose latest works always attract attention. In this film, Miike depicts a
heated courtroom battle by evoking his novel visual sense with VFX and CG
and his unique ³Miike magic² directing of actors from films like YATTERMAN,
the CROWS Episod 0, CROWS and Thirteens Assassins. While most films set in
courtrooms tend to offer low-key, pedestrian visuals, the courtroom scenes
in this film are amazingly attractive for audiences.

Hiroki Narimiya, the talented young actor whose performances in Drop and the
TV series Bad Boy & Good Girl resonated with a new generation of young
people, plays the hot-blooded, rookie lawyer Phoenix Wright. His childhood
friend and ultimate rival Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth is played by Takumi
Saitoh (medical TV series Saijo no Meii), a younger actor in the limelight.
Extremely popular, teenage actress Mirei Kiritani plays the damsel in
distress Maya Fey, a spirit medium in training. Veteran actors from the
Japanese film world and regular Miike Takashi film actors including Ryo
Ishibashi (Audition, Ju-On The Grudge), Rei Dan (Kabei: Our Mother), Fumiyo
Kohinata, Kimiko Yo (Departures), Akira Emoto, round out the cast. Court is
in session for this ³courtroom battle² entertainment film at theatres
nationwide on February 11, 2012. Don¹t miss it!

SYNOPSIS
In 20XX, to prevent the rise of vicious crimes the government introduces
"bench trials" a new justice system where the defense and prosecutor go
head-to-head in open court. Within just three days, a guilty or not guilty
verdict is decided.

Talented attorney Mia Fey, who shows understanding for her junior lawyer,
Phoenix Wright (Hiroki Narimiya), is murdered. Arrested for the murder is
her spirit medium in training sister Maya Fey (Mirei Kiritani). Phoenix
believes in Maya¹s innocence and takes the case where he meets Prosecutor
Miles Edgeworth (Takumi Saito), a level-headed, prodigy attorney and
childhood friend. An intense courtroom battle unfolds as testimony and
evidence are presented.

After the trial, Phoenix receives word that Miles has been arrested for
murder! Phoenix steps forward to defend Miles. Opposing council is none
other than Miles¹s master, legendary prosecutor von Karma (Ryo Ishibashi)
who has been undefeated in court for 40 years. As the trial goes on, the 15
year old DL-6 case, where Miles¹s father Gregory Edgeworth was shot and
killed in the evidence room, is examined closely.

What will become of Phoenix, Miles and Maya? What dangerous truth lies

[PC, PS3, X360] Mass Effect 3 Marketing Stunt is Out of this World

[PC, PS3, X360] Mass Effect 3 Marketing Stunt is Out of this World
[Image: game-news-image-2012-06b3869ff1f5e08805f...1e42a1.jpg]
The excruciating wait for one of the biggest games of the year will continue for another three weeks for most of us, but a very lucky few will be able to get their hands on the full version of Mass Effect 3 before then thanks to a unique marketing ploy by Electronic Arts. Next week, the publisher will literally be launching copies of the game into space using weather balloons that will be released from New York, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Berlin, London, and Paris. Each copy of the game has a GPS tracking device attached to it that people can track on masseffect.com to find where the games will land on their return to Earth.

Finders become keepers and will get to enjoy the game in its entirety well in advance of the game's March 6 release date. Until then you'll have to get your ME3 fix with the recently-released demo available for download on Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, and PC.

[PS3, X360] 'Sazh: Heads or Tails' DLC coming to XIII-2, as well as new outfits

[PS3, X360] 'Sazh: Heads or Tails' DLC coming to XIII-2, as well as new outfits
[Image: game-news-image-2012-6ebb8cda49579917a28...504f21.jpg]
Square Enix were quite vocal about their intentions for keeping Final Fantasy XIII-2 relevant with a stream of downloadable content. We've already received a few outfits and as Lightning DLC battle. Well, next up is Sazh from the original Final Fantasy XIII crew.

So, fans who have been eagerly awaiting any sort of announcement regarding Sazh can finally relax. The DLC, titled Heads or Tails, contains a new side-story that runs parallel to the story of Final Fantasy XIII-2. Upon completion players will then be able to have Sazh in their party throughout the game. It will also add two new mini-games to the casino stage that is available from the second chapter, the new games are called "Chronobind" and "Serendepity Poker".

It will be available on the 28th of February on Xbox Live for 400 MSP and on the 29th of February for PlayStation Network users for $4.99 (€3.59/£2.99).

Before that DLC even releases though, you'll have the option to buy two new outfits, one for Serah ("Beachwear") and one for Noel ("Spacetime Guardian), so if you can't hold onto your money you could probably sink it there in the lead up to Sazh's return. The costumes will set you back 240 MSP / $2.99 (€1.99/£1.59)

[Multi] Assassin's Creed 3 Dated for October 30

[Multi] Assassin's Creed 3 Dated for October 30
[Image: game-news-image-2012-9112b905682d9255d20...084e4a.jpg]
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemont announced during an earnings call today that Assassin's Creed 3 will be launching on October 30 of this year, however he didn't divulge any further details. He is saying that AC3 will be the biggest game in the series so far though and that development on the title has been underway for three years.

We already know that the third numbered entry in the popular franchise will finally wrap up Desmond's storyline and will feature both a new protagonist and a new setting for the series. Last year, Ubisoft conducted a survey that polled fans on which setting they would like to see in the next Assassin's Creed, which included such options as ancient Egypt (heavily rumored to be the favorite), feudal Japan, and the American Revolution, among others.

Platforms have not yet been specified either, leaving us to wonder if AC3 is the Assassin's Creed game that Ubisoft has already confirmed to be in development for the Wii U and/or PlayStation Vita. The series is yet to appear on a Nintendo home console.

[Multi] Mark Rein says Unreal Engine 4 will be shown 'later this year'

[Multi] Mark Rein says Unreal Engine 4 will be shown 'later this year'
[Image: game-news-image-2012-e974f4862d2bb9b48b8...e41ed4.jpg]
Epic's Mark Rein has been doing a significant amount of teasing over at DICE recently, but it has all climaxed by him mentioning Unreal Engine 4 popping its head out later this year.

While he was talking to G4 he mentions "people are going to be shocked later this year when they see Unreal Engine 4 and how much more profound an effect it will have." We have heard in the past that Epic are working hard at putting the engine together, and I'm sure a lot of people are excited to see how it looks. Epic doesn't expect to see games running on the engine fully until 2014, which would just about fit into the projected schedule.

Are you excited to see what the new Unreal Engine can pull off? Well, keep your eyes peeled later in 2012.

Nintendo launches Rhythm Heaven Fever with a party at iam8bit

by on Feb 11th 2012 1:00PM

Los Angeles' iam8bit gallery played host to Nintendo last night, as the two companies launched Rhythm Heaven Fever with a full scale party. There were plenty of demos of the game on display, live painting by artists Yoskay Yamamoto and Mari Inukai, a live DJ spinning tunes, and a few photo booths where players could dress up and pose, or even dance for a video running on Nintendo's own site.
The event was a lot of fun, and you can pretend you were able to be there by browsing through the gallery below. iam8bit always does a great job with these events, and co-founder Jon Gibson promised us there's lots more on the way: He's currently working hard on the leetUP event that iam8bit is co-hosting at the beginning of next month, and says VIP tickets for that one have sold out already. We'll be in attendance, so stay tuned for more.

NintendoWare Weekly: Metal Gear Solid 3D demo, Strider

by on Feb 16th 2012 12:30PM

The Metal Gear Solid 3D demo arrives today, accompanied by relatively big news on the Virtual Console! The first NES Ambassador game for 3DS is now available for purchase by non-Ambassadors! Super Mario Bros. is on the eShop now for five bucks. And if you already have it through the Ambassador Program, you can get a free update to add multiplayer and save states!

There's also news for the Wii's Virtual Console: the Genesis version of Strider can be purchased today. We hadn't heard about a Genesis VC game in a while, so we looked into it. As far as we can tell, this is the first Genesis game on Wii in North America since Sonic & Knuckles, on February 15, 2010. It's been two years and a day since the last Genesis VC release.

In fact, this appears to be the first Wii Virtual Console release of any kind since The Ignition Factor six months ago. Enjoy it! This doesn't happen very often.

Wii Virtual Console Strider (Genesis, 1 player, 800 Wii Points): Pseudo-Soviet settings, giant robot gorillas, and weird arcing sword effects. Angry Birds wins a prize for making money through merchandising

by on Feb 14th 2012 2:30AM

Rovio, the people sprinkling stale bread behind Angry Birds, received the Property of the Year prize at the 12th annual Toy of the Year awards (yeah, that's totally a thing). Rovio won based on the massive amount of Angry Birds physical merchandise it's released over the past two years, which includes plush toys, backpacks, clothing, phone cases and bacon. OK, not bacon, but Rovio has branded almost every other item imaginable.

"Our physical goods business has great momentum just now," Ville Heijari, Rovio's VP of franchise development, told Develop. "It's especially interesting to see many app and social game devs emulate the merchandising strategy that Rovio has been pushing with Angry Birds for the last two years."

[Wii U] Miyamoto is enjoying developing Pikmin 3 for Nintendo's new console

[Wii U] Miyamoto is enjoying developing Pikmin 3 for Nintendo's new console
[Image: game-news-image-2012-4f090adc6bf25ea4c9f...42d4bf.jpg]
Pikmin was a franchise that surprised a lot of fans when it first released on Gamecube all those years ago. It has been a long time since Pikmin 2's release way back in 2004. We know that the long-awaited third installment is being developed for Nintendo's upcoming console, Wii U. Apart from this we haven't seen any footage or artwork from the game, but Miyamoto has emerged to make a comment on how development is proceeding.

“Originally, I was making Pikmin 3 to be launched on the Wii platform,” Miyamoto said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. “Because the Wii U is capable of HD quality pictures, and will be accompanied by the subscreen on your hand. I thought that I would be able to make a Pikmin that was closer to my ideal. I am now actually enjoying myself, working on the game.”

Miyamoto was originally stepping back from development to a reduced 'Producer' role so he could focus on a new IP, but it appears he is enjoying himself with Pikmin 3 and can't get away from it.
