Following a several-month-long beta, Steam Big Picture has officially gone public as of today. The new service allows Steam users to play their library of Steam games on their television screen simply by connecting their computer to a TV, as well as surf the web through a new web browser, navigate Steam, and chat with other users.

To celebrate, Valve are putting a variety of controller-friendly games on sale for up to 75% off through December 10th, including titles such as Alan Wake, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Left 4 Dead, Mark of the Ninja, Portal 2, and Bit.Trip.Runner, to name just a few. While all games available on Steam are compatible with Big Picture, note that not all of them feature controller support.
