Nikkei RUMOR: Larger 3DS Soon, Wii U Price Details

Nikkei is reporting that Nintendo will announce a new revision of the Nintendo 3DS with a 4.3 inch screen (1.5 times the current size). This could release in North America, Japan and Europe as early as this Summer. They’re also reporting that the Wii U price is expected to be around 30,000 yen (around $380), though it’s not clear if this is from an inside source or simply speculation. Nikkei is also reporting Wii U will have various non-gaming content like a car navigator, books, and a karaoke service including around 10,000 songs.

This is not confirmed, but Nikkei has a pretty good track record so there is a good probability of these being true. It’s unclear if this 3DS XL of sorts will be announced at E3 or later. And that Wii U price could indicate a $299 or $249 launch price in the US, though Nintendo has already said we won’t hear price details at E3. Stay tuned to NintendoFuse for the latest on this report.

Note: The Nintendo 3DS XL logo is a mockup, it’s not real.
