[DS] Review Roundup - Pokémon Conquest
[Image: game-news-image-2012-4a538fa1ea1a530b521...f232f9.jpg]Destructoid - 8/10 - "Pokemon Conquest could have been a cheap tie-in with a terrible gimmick, but instead it's managed to be a fun and rewarding little strategy game with its heart in the right place. It's not going to tax your mind and it's not going to provide anything too complex, but it will more than like suck up hours of your time while you gladly let it, because it's just too satisfying to grab as many Pokemon as possible and see what they can do. As far as Pokemon spin-off games go, this is definitely one of the best offerings on the market, and is worth picking up by any fan of the series."

IGN - 9/10 - "Pokémon fans should not hesitate to give Conquest a try. It offers a new and different way to enjoy the Pokémon universe, and is well worth your time and money. The same goes for strategy fans, or those looking to get into the genre. For all these reasons, and for the game’s creative and apt execution, I walked away from the experience thoroughly impressed and amazed. It easily stands alongside the similarly well-executed (and unexpectedly splendid) likes of Pokémon Snap as one of the greatest, most fully realized Pokémon spinoffs in existence."

GamesRadar - 8/10 - "However, all the extra touches and rules gave much more to Pokémon Conquest than it took away. If you were concerned that a strategy game starring Pokémon would be simplified for a wider audience, let go of your worries. PC retains the addictive qualities of battling and team-building we love in tactics titles while fully embracing everything strange about niche Japanese titles like this one. By coming at it from a different angle, Conquest finds its own special spot in the world of SRPGs."

EGM - 8/10 - "Though the Pokémon label might be slightly disingenuous, Conquest does offer a novel, enjoyable take on the strategy genre—and the Pokémon brand also gives the traditionally hardcore strategy genre a modicum of accessibility to a wider audience. If the wider Pokémon fanbase can look past a few curious decisions in regards to this odd franchise marriage, they’ll find a strong strategy title that should provide some severe addiction in its own right."

Game Informer - 7/10 - "Pokémon Conquest takes the Pokémon you know and recognize (and love?) and places them into the world of tactical turn-based strategy with little kicking and screaming. Unfortunately, its simplicity will turn away tactical purists, and its complexity and management demands will turn off fans of the traditional Pokémon RPG."
