GameSpot - 5/10 - "What Kinect Star Wars does do is highlight just how difficult it is to create a full-on action experience using the Kinect. It tries hard, but the action is slowed down to a pace that saps the fun out of being a Jedi. Even the novelty of waving a lightsaber around can overcome only so much. And while the other minigames are a fun, if sometimes horrifying, distraction, that's all they are: a distraction. There's nothing lasting, nothing deep enough to make you want to revisit this motion-controlled Star Wars universe. It turns out there is something as clumsy and random as a blaster, and sadly, Kinect Star Wars is it."
Eurogamer - 5/10 - "Overall, Kinect Star Wars is an incoherent and clumsy compilation, one driven more by brand synergy than any creative imperative. The better elements would arguably have worked better as standalone digital releases, while the core gameplay is both awkward and unsatisfying. Kids will find it far too fiddly and unresponsive, while adults will be put off by the repetition and generally slapdash "see what sticks" approach to gameplay. Waste your time with this, you should not."
IGN - 5.5/10 - "If you’re a longtime fan who’s been waiting for a game that’ll let you live out your Star Wars fantasies then the wait is far from over. Kinect Star Wars, with all its control and polish issues, has very limited appeal for an adult audience. Kids will likely find more enjoyment out of it, even the absurd dancing mode, but ultimately its more of a Star Wars-themed set of mediocre mini-games than the jedi epic fans are dying for."
Cheat Code Central - 2.5/5 - "Kinect Star Wars isn't the worst Kinect game I have ever played, nor is it the worst Star Wars game I have ever played. It's just depressingly mediocre. The Star Wars license would have made this a great title to appeal to the hardcore crowd, but unfortunately the flawed controls hold it back. Likewise, the same license actually makes this game harder to share with younger children and families. You aren't missing much if you pass up this title, even if you are a hardcore Star Wars fan. It might be a fun rental for a night or two with friends at a sci-fi convention, but that's about it."
