[Multi] Review Roundup - Madden NFL 12
[Image: game-news-image-2011-688ee353de3befab147...cca095.jpg]GameSpot - 7.5/10 - "Progress comes at a snail's pace, making versions blend together so that they're barely distinguishable from one another. In real life, every player eventually hits a performance wall; players can only improve for so long before they start to regress. Madden 12 is the video game equivalent of a player at the end of his career. It can still dazzle you from time to time, but it's clearly showing its age."

1UP - B- - "The biggest problem for Madden at this stage in its existence, though, is that it seems to lack a clear direction or vision of what it should be. Instead, it's listing back and forth, rudderless, between attempts at being a serious simulation and trying to attract a more casual audience, and it's not doing great service to either. I fear we'll be waiting until it makes its way to new hardware before genuine creative thinking and innovation returns to the series."

GamePro - 3.5/5 - "So, like I said, it's up to you whether you're feeling optimistic or pessimistic about this year's edition of Madden 12. You can either focus on what a great idea it was to introduce Online Communities to filter out the game's infamous trolls, or you can focus on the fact that the SuperStar Mode is still way behind the likes of NHL in its simplistic presentation and complete lack of goals. Either way, Madden NFL is as gratifying and frustrating as ever."

Game Informer - 7.5/10 - "Past Maddens either delivered new features or fixed old problems, but this year you get neither. In too many instances Madden 12 takes you down promising paths that only lead to dead ends. Commenting on the obvious disappointments that crop up in the experience, Bertz once asked me incredulously, 'Didn’t they play their own game?' I can’t remember a time when the series was this lost. I’d say that it has nowhere to go but up, but as this year shows, progress can be elusive and nothing can be counted as certain."

IGN - 8/10 - "The improvements to Madden NFL 12 are small, but they’re spread over every facet of the game. Madden fans are getting a tighter, more finely tuned game. AI is smarter and more accurate, the lighting and animations are more realistic, and the Franchise is more expansive. It’s disappointing that there are still areas where other sports titles are outshining Madden, and with no new gameplay modes it’s hard to recommend it to players who were bored last year. However, in terms of pure gameplay, Madden NFL 12 looks better, hits harder, and runs faster than ever before."
