[PS3, PSP] PSN Information Compromised

[PS3, PSP] PSN Information Compromised
For the last week the Playstation Network has been down due to what Sony called an 'external intrusion'. Today it was announced that information stored on PSN may be compromised. Information compromised includes: NameAddress (city, state, zip)CountryEmail AddressBirthdatePlayStation Network/Qriocity password and login

Purchase history and password security answers may also have been leaked. Sony also isn't ruling out the fact that credit card information may have been compromised. And while there is "no evidence" that this has according, Sony is taking the liberty of informing users that credit card number and expiration date may have been compromised.

The U.S. Government has also been getting involved. Senator Richard Blumenthal from Connecticut issued a letter to SCEA President and CEO Jack Tretton, troubled by the "failure of Sony to immediately notify affected customers of the breach and to extend adequate financial data security protections." He then goes on to call on Sony to provide affected customers with two years of credit reporting, the cost of which Sony would have to bear.

Sony says that they needed time in order to ascertain the "scope of the breach."
