As you know, the 3DS will have access to Game Boy and Game Boy Colour titles through its own virtual console when the update is released. Today Nintendo announced that they would be releasing the eShop firmware update in late May at this point.

The update will give users access to the DSiWare section, where you'll be able to download games (as well as transfer previously purchased games across). The Virtual Console will also arrive with this update with Game Gear and Turbografx being added onto it as well as Game Boy and Game Boy Colour.

Nintendo also announced that users will be able to watch Hollywood movie trailers in 3D on the handheld.

Finally, the big N also announced that the eShop will grant you access to '3D Classics', which they say "will introduce select classic video games remastered in 3D."

RE: [3DS] 3DS eShop in late May, brings more platforms to Virtual Console I just can't wait for the inevitable announcement of the GBA section.

I want to buy Metroid Fusion again, Nintendo. Can't you tell?!
