Nintendo of Japan’s Investment Briefing – Jan. 28, 2011

Nintendo of Japan has just released their notes from their third-quarter results briefing. They announced some new titles and information about the 3DS. We have compiled the new information below (compliments of Google Translate), and left out the bits that we already know from previous press events.

Iwata mentioned this year is the 25th anniversary of Zelda and Dragon Quest, and the 15th anniversary of Pokemon. He mentioned how they celebrated the 25th anniversary of Mario last year… so this could be a possible hint at special anniversary celebrations for those other series.

Pokemon Battle & Get will come to the DS in April 2011. It will be a typing teacher and come with a Bluetooth-enabled keyboard.New Wii game, Tower of Pandora, announced.New Rhythm Heaven (Rhythm Tengoku) game for Wii. It is a follow-up to the previous Rhythm Heaven game for DS.

New Kirby game for Wii, where Kirby is back to his old self, sucking up enemies.

Just Dance 2 and Goldeneye are coming to Japan. The first 3DS firmware update will happen simultaneously around the world at the end of May 2011. This update will contain the Internet Browser, 3DS eShop, video playback, and the ability to transfer games from other 3DS or DSi units.Nintendo confirmed partnership with Fuji to develop the 3D video playback application.Iwata said they’re working on new Pokemon games for Wii and 3DS, and they’ll be announced over time. They detail various aspects of the friends list and also StreetPass notifications, but the google translation isn’t very good. From what we understand of the StreetPass, not only is there an indicator on the Notifications icon on the menu, but there’s an indicator on each of the apps that have new things as well. (Hard to say with the Google translation, though.)

Expect some gameplay videos coming soon, especially for the new Kirby Wii game.
